WiW - 10/30 & 10/31 - Turquoise and Teal

10/30- Pics 1&2 - Busy day yesterday and I didn't get a chance to get a proper picture or to post it! Wearing the turquoise cashmere cardi my fellow YLFers helped me style and save last winter with the VC trousers from the NAS sale. The CPW on these trousers has to already be in the single digits! Sorry for the potty pics, but it was literally the only time I had yesterday.

10/31 - Pic 3 - Not a ton of time this morning as DD was being extra fussy. I tried out my new Cole Haan oxfords that kkards helped me find. Not exactly the Pradas, but they fill the wardrobe hole and are insanely comfortable right out of the box! Paired with a white BR sweater, teal AT skirt and bone tights.

Added an artist made necklace to try to create teh same visual draw as a v-neck

I was worried the white tights might make me look like a nurse. DH (who works in a hospital) assured me nurses wear scrubs, not white tights. What do you think?

Oh wow Thistle - I absolutely LOVE the first outfit with the turquoise cardi. Such a pretty color on you and very flattering proportions with those trousers - also love the animal print touch with the footwear.

I think the pencil skirt and turtleneck are lovely on you in outfit #2 but I'm not crazy about the color of the tights. They read a little bit too "nurse" for me.

You had me at turquoise. I love #1/2 - especially with the shoes. It's good for me to see someone else bookending their light hair because I still want to reach for black shoes every time. I like #3 too and really love the new shoes. I don't think the white tights are terrible but I'm not super crazy about them either.... I'm trying to think what else you could try. Something with a pattern? Or nudes? I'll be watching this thread for other's suggestions because I struggle with what tights to wear myself in cold weather.

The first outfit is stellar! You really shine in it. The second has beautiful fits ---- such a lovely silhouette! I love the new oxfords, but I'd also vote for either a darker tight or perhaps a patterned one --- micro fishnets are my faves. I used to get them at Walmart, but No Nonsense no longer makes them! Sigh.

Love the turquoise outfit. SO pretty. I think the white tights are kind of fun but I can understand the nurse vibe. I think some fur topped boots would be cute with this.

Good save on the cardi! And are the shoes leopard print? Stellar outfit! Now, this is what I would do with the second outfit...black tights, black shoes and a teal/black patterned scarf to bookend. But then, I've never been able to make light tights work - and I'm on team black, black and more black.

Normally, DH is very honest with me and I have come to listen to him. I think we were just off this morning! Or it could have been the toddler wrangling made extra difficult with her Halloween costume!

Ha, it's crazy but I kind of love the white tights.
Both outfits are great in my opinion.

Thistle: Unless your DH is much older, he probably doesn't associate nurses with white tights, unless he watches "A Clockwork Orange" obsessively!
Most of us who picked up on it are either, ahem, more mature, or had a Nurse Barbie in gradeschool!

In either case, it wasn't the first thing I thought of when I saw your post, so I wouldn't worry about your boss asking you to take his blood pressure or anything. Unless, of course you have a crazy boss (I temped, I know my crazy).

I love your first outfit with the turquoise and the leopard print shoes. I like the second outfit as well, but would probably wear nude tights instead of white. I don't associate white tights with nursing either, but it just seems like too much white in one outfit.

Ok, I don't love the white tights, but I understand why you wouldn't want to wear dark tights with the white (?) shoes. I have a pair of oxfords in beige, and while I have worn them with darker tights, I much prefer wearing them with cotton-rich cabled tights in a creamy beige that look a little bit like these:

Beth Ann, now I'm trying to remember the color of the tights of the nurses in Clockwork Orange. And I HAVE watched it quite excessively, I think. Hum...

ETA: Did I mention that I love the sweater and the skirt in outfit 2? I love the sweater and the skirt in outfit 2! Wonderful combination of colors!

So pretty in a turquoise twinset, all fashioned up with animal print booties. Divine.

And I love the white tights with the outfit in #3. High five, Zap. The effect is both Mod and Modern. Fun with the oxfords too.

I love #1, the whole outfit is just lovely......turquoise and leopard is just yummy. #2 looks very sleek and minimal to me.....very nice and a little unexpected, I don't mind white tights at all

Love the leopard shoes with the turquoise. Unusual and nice pairing.

I will admit, I was a bit nervous about leopard shoes when I bought them last year. They are snow leopard, so a bit lighter in color, and I love them.

It really moved me out of my comfort zone to incorporate them at first, which is a good thing!

I really like the first outfit. The turquoise is so refreshing! I'm not sure about the tights in the second outfit...maybe they'd look better with different shoes.

The turquoise and black with animal print shoes is so fab! I like the white tights on you. Not everyone can wear them but they emphasize your dainty ankles and shapely legs. I want to steal those oxfords.
