No, I'm not bruised, just stricken with a sudden desire for cool, saturated, brilliant blue to give a little zing to my January black and grey. One of my goals for this year was to explore the combination of black and blue.
Unfortunately, I'm light-deprived, and I've not yet mastered using the iPhone in low-light conditions. Please excuse the poor quality of the photos! I've had to edit them to show details and colors.
1. New cobalt straight legs. These will give my red jeans a break, and I've easily found 8 good outfits featuring them in my current closet. I've paired them here with a charcoal heather drape-neck tank (banded bottom) and a ruched poplin moto in black (Mango, JCP)
2. My CSI Investigator look -- like the no-nonsense smirk? I spent a decade in boring black trousers and have assiduously avoided them in recent years. I found Gap Perfect Fit pants at a consignment store, tags still on, and decided to give them a go. I associate this silhouette with the women on Police Procedurals, although I am lacking the badge and the firearm! I'm liking the rise and my new belt, sized to fill the loops and sit lower on the hip, rather than at the waist. Not sure whether this kind of trouser is a little dated, or classic.
3. Close up of the jacket/top, as I paired it with a pencil skirt last fall. The exposure is a little better here! This jacket is from the Rack --- Sona and I are jacket twins.
