Denise - what a great thing to take this trip with your Mom. My Mom has always wanted to do a cruise and my Dad refuses. One of these days I'll do the same with her. Needs to be soon, too.
Thanks for the run down both on the capsule and the trip - beautiful, both.
My favorite outfit is #9!
(Absolutely cracked up at #15 - "trending on board")

WELCOME BACK. I really missed you around here, Denise. I'm thrilled to hear that you had an amazing time with Mama, and that your capsule worked out so well. Fun, fun, FUN.

You looked beautiful, hip, happy and fashionable for every occasion - from formal dinner to casual deck work out. WOW.

*applause*

Have special love for #1, 3, 4, 9 and 11. Killer looks on a killer lady. Your new sandals are brilliant. Fun to wear new stuff on a trip isn't it. xo

There is no doubt that you were the most stylishly dressed woman on board that ship! You look fantastic in all of your outfits and I'm so glad that you had such a nice time. And what's a few extra pairs of shoes...better too many than not enough!

Moving backwards…

Susie, true! It's not like I didn't have the room for the extra booties. And I did actually wear them on the 3 days after the cruise we tacked on in San Francisco.

Angie, I missed you and everyone too! There was internet at sea but it averaged around 50 cents per minute and it could take up to 5 minutes to load a page.

Laurie, book that cruise! There are lots of shorter cruises if you can't commit to 15 days.

Texstyle, I think the color palette would work on a variety of complexions and hair colors.

Sara L., I rolled most of my clothes and it's amazing how much you can pack in the suitcase. And -- it comes out relatively unwrinkled. (White button downs excepted.)

Janet, the beach at Nawiliwili was my favorite in Hawaii. I would take Kauai over Maui now (Maui used to be my favorite but now it seems so over-developed). I failed to mention that I got attacked by mama chickens when I was picking pinecones…

Astrid, I hope one day you can make it to Hawaii too. Not too many Europeans on board, mostly US, Canada, UK and China.

Viva, Princess Cruises is having 50th Anniversary specials -- and I know you can get last-minute deals. You should plan something with Mom now! What else can I do to enable you?

Kimberly, I loved cruising the "Mar Pacifico" -- you need to check it out!

Tanya, the lace-up sandals picked up the stripes in the skirt, and they have a graphic nature as well. I'm glad you liked them too! I think they will fit right in with the Boho trend of 2015.

Diane G, I was surprised at how many UK guests there were. All fearless about catching rays even on cooler days. And enjoying a pint while doing it.

Suz, thank you for the kind comments about the WIWs, but the thought of -23 weather is so distracting that's all I can think about now. I have no idea what that feels like -- maybe the kind of weather my brother deals with on his Himalayan expeditions?

Celia and Shevia, thank you <3

Rute, I want to try the Italian coast cruise too! It will have to wait a while, as I can't take any time off in the Summer. Something to think of for retirement?

Unfrumped, my Mom and I are trying to plan a multi-generational cruise to be taken within the next year or two. We're not that creative so we're just thinking about doing the same Hawaii trip again. (Plus we love Hawaii.) I'm glad to hear yours was a success.

Kkards, see comment to Viva!

Jjsloane, I'm glad you appreciated the "deals" nature of my pre-cruise shopping, it kept my shopping on-task for a few months. The biggest disappointment was the Allsaints dresses but at least I could return them.

Karie, my question about the Alaska cruises is this: mosquitos? Just kidding, they might be on my radar if I didn't have to work 6 days a week in the Summer. I've heard people really love the Alaska trips.

Jenanded and StyleFan, thank you The planning was instructive as the time invested upfront was saved later on. I could dress for any occasion, very quickly.

What a wonderful trip--and how great you could go with your Mom. We gave a cruise to my folks for their 50th anniversary, but my Dad wouldn't go, so Mom didn't either.

I've wondered about cruising to Hawaii--that's a lot of days at sea. Maybe I should reconsider.

And you looked all the time. I think I'm going to reread your planning etc. so I can do a better job packing the next time I cruise.

OMG these are beyond fab! The blue dress is just stellar!!

I have fond memories of my cruising days, and hope to be able to do it again some day! Well done, Denise!!

Wowsa! What an amazing cruise capsule. I am in awe of your packing prowess. I was a mess on out first/last cruise. You have the most gorgeous figure and you look simply fab in everything! Well done

Wow! So glad you had a nice vacation. It looks gorgeous. The photo of the walkers had me chuckling. Good for them for getting out and enjoying life to the fullest! Your travel capsule sounds and looks perfect! You look spot on perfect for every occasion. I am in love with that Vince dress/vest. I'm so glad your dresses worked out as well. What a special time with your mom.

OMG, your dresses your dresses! Knock me out

Denise, the photo of the walkers reminds me of a friend of mine who is the manager of a concert hall. She calls the Sunday matinee group, with their walkers, the "heavy metal crowd!"

You looked magnificent on your vacations --- I have a real soft spot for that purple dress, but it's all really well planned and lovely.

Glad you have a terrific time and felt your clothing worked well for you.

Black lace-up sandals. Yummy!
This is such a great post when considering travel capsule. It goes in my favorites. Thank you!

Denise you look wonderful. I am so glad you and your Mom had a great time.
Our Zara shirt was great buy. We are both getting plenty of use out of it.
I want to take a cruise now to get hubby to do it. Love your Hawaii pictures.
Those sandals are swoon worthy.
