WIW -- Angie's white, military and red formula two ways.

This is my very first WIW! I was inspired by Angie's post about the white, military and red formula. Unfortunately, I don't have any military bottoms, because I have a complicated relationship with them. Being in the military and living in the "south", I have a poison eye for camo worn as fashion, but I love a lot of the military/safari inspired jackets with epaulets and pockets and beigey green colors. I also really like nautical looks. I do have a pair of beige slouchy tapered or harem pants (not sure about the silhouette until i go shopping) on my list, but I haven't found them yet. But I do have red pants and military colored shoes, so I decided to go with that.

Pictures 1 and 2: What i wore today. I received several compliments in the pants/shoes combo. Happiness factor: medium high.
pants: Wit and wisdom oxblood polka dot skinnies (Nordstrom)
shirt: Ellie Tahari (Haute look)
shoes: Bandolino. They are actually some sort of snake print, but I decided they qualify (Marshall's)
jacket: Loft (thrifted)

Pictures 3-5: What I wore yesterday out to dinner. Happiness factor high until I spilled on myself. Not the biggest deal, as shout wipes worked like a charm. But I am a messy eater and while I love love love the white trend, I worry about my ability to participate.
pants: same, but cuffed.
shirt: ASTR (Nordstrom). It's sheer, so I wore a bp camisole underneath.
shoes: same
jacket: WDNY (Marshall's)

Welcome Robin, and congratulations on your first WIWs! You look stunning and I adore both outfits. I especially love how you took Angie' formula and put your unique spin on it. And you have such a cool hairstyle.

Firstly, congrats on your first WIW. I think you look great! Your first outfit looks pretty cool. I like your slouchy blouse over the slim bottoms. Your second outfit's great too, I think I prefer the jacket open to show your white top. Nice proportions in both. Fab!

Great outfits. I love your take on the blog post. I like the jacket with the slim bottoms. Very nice! The olive harem pants sound fun too and I bet the same blouse would look great tucked into them. Dinner outfit is gorgeous. IKWYM about white and spilling. I will have to try the shout wipes.

Congratulations on your first WIW! You look great in both outfits. I love the relaxed feel of the silky blouse untucked and the other top bloused over the top of the pants. The skinnies work perfectly with those shoes, too. I love your take on Angie's combination, with these colors.

I empathize with you on the camo aversion. I, too, have a complicated relationship with the military-inspired fashion overall; having been in the Army, I don't want to wear things that look too much like my former uniforms! I won't wear camo in any form, though I don't mind it at all on others.

Wow! Many thanks for all the feedback-- this was such a great formula to play with (with all the different posts, you can tell it inspired a lot of people). I have been experimenting with my iPhone camera to figure out photos-- it's hard to get a lot of light in my house. I'd also like to figure out how to prevent my cat from photo-bombing about half my WIW attempts :-). I'd love to know how the forum members who regularly post set up their cameras.
