FFBO seem to be where I am lately. Weather took a sharp cold turn, dropping 20 degrees in a day. My feet are swollen from our evening walks combined with park time, so the cute leopard shoes I wanted to wear today were a no go with swollen feet. Just in general, I have been struggling with being okay with my body shape. So, FFBO of black trousers, Ecco boots, wrap top, and a tank underneath.

I tried to curl my hair, and uh, yeah, need to do some more reading on how to make that happen!

I wore my structural necklace that was a gift from DH as it always adds to my happiness factor. He bought it for me at a little shop when we were on a getaway for our anniversary, and I love it as much now as I did then!

Nothing wrong with a FFBO! I am sorry your feet have been so sore. That is no fun at all.

I keep forgetting what FFBO means (must be my age) but whatever it is you look great. I can relate to keeping the tootsies comfy. Happy feet are a huge priority for me.

Sorry to hear about your sore feet. I hope they perk up in a couple of days and you can resume your walking. Nothing wrong with FFBO I think ypur top is really flattering and the soft teal/blue tone suits you to a T.

I think you look really nice. The blue of your top and the wrap style are very flattering. Your hair looks good too - the curls give it a lot of volume today even if they didn't come out the way you had planned.

We all have those FFBO days. You look great and modern and your hair looks pretty. How are you curling it - curling iron? hot rollers? sponge rollers? Mine is so wavy, almost curly - I use a big fat curling iron to help smooth down the waves. The grass is always greener, right?

Do you guys ride bikes ever? Just thinking it might be another way to share fun down to the park or beyond even - but give your feet a break. You'd have to have one of those bikes with a stroller thing maybe? (can't remember your DD's age).

You wear that color so well, Thistle, and the FFBO is a great formula for you, nothing wrong with it at all! I like your hair today, it has a nice movement to it and looks very natural. Love that. The necklace is a very sweet finishing touch - apart from being pretty, it also has the very important sentimental value for you.

I tried a curling iron on it, but my original curling iron died a few years ago, and I wanted one Right Now. So rather than going to a salon and getting one, I just bought one at a beauty supply store.

Nobody wears a wrap top as well as you do, and the colour is wonderful. Sorry to hear about your swollen feet. Hope you feel better soon. I wonder if you would enjoy aquafit as a change from all the walking you do. I hurt my knee a couple of years ago and it was so nice to be able to exercise without stressing my joints.
Your hair does look extra good today btw.

Thistle, I use a heat protecting cream on my hair when it's damp and let it dry all the way (usually overnight) before using a curling iron. I use a heat protecting cream from Kiehls but I've used other ones before so you don't have to special order anything. Maybe try the Tresemme Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Spray. Depends on how you are about scents (I prefer not much scent so the Tresemme is a little too much for me). Look for "heat protecting" creams online to read reviews first. Then find them in the beauty section of the big grocers or drugstores. And there are curling irons with heat protecting coatings - I got one last time, but you know, I think I preferred the one that didn't have it. My hair slips a bit too much with the protective coating.

I would get a smaller curling iron diameter I think - large ones like I use may tend to straighten more than curl! Not to small, but like a 3/4" diameter or so.

And be careful when curling, don't hold it more than a few seconds, then let the curl "rest" while it cools and move on to the next one. Do a bunch of curls first, let cool, then use your fingers not a brush or you'll brush the curl out.

Good idea, Missvee, but I am not supposed to use the pool. The walking is part of my exercise routine to combat my osteoporosis diagnosis, so I need the weight bearing activity.

I do enjoy it, and I feel fine when walking and even at the park. It probably means I need to upgrade my walking shoes. Ahhh, ugrading the active wear capsule. So not fun, but needs doing.

Nothing wrong with FFBOs! You look great! The necklace I bet made the outfit look even better :). And I know your feet are sore, which is why you reached for your eccos, but patterned booties would have been a great addition. Perhaps when your cute little feet are feeling up to it.

Loving the wavy movement in your locks, Thistle! Please carry on down that hair path.

You have been on a real streak in the last few months, Thistle. Time to think back on the great leap forward that came with color and -------- wait for it -------- the fabulous dresses! That's a lot of change in a short bit of time. Add the soreness and fatigue from your new walking program, and discouraging weather, and it's easy, and good, to pull out the FFBO.

Perhaps your "style eyes" are seeing in much greater detail than they used to, and what satisfied before feels not quite good enough now. For example, now that you understand the power of proportion, is it possible your desire for a "model" body to go with the "model" proportion has grown? I think this happened to me, and I've had to reclaim my respect for my own form. How sad I would be if other women felt they couldn't enjoy dressing because they weren't perfect. Can I "model" a different approach? One that dresses the body I have with honor and pride? I'm working on it!

Hope you manage to feel stronger tomorrow! And you deserve a terrific pair of walking shoes!

FFBO can still be fab - and that's what this outfit is Thistle. Beautiful colour next to your lovely face, great and flattering shape and sleek lines.

Sorry to hear about your sore feet. I hate when I have a certain pair of shoes I want to wear with my outfit and then I can't.

Hi Thistle. You do look great! That's what FFBOs are for, to be able to look good without a lot of thought. I find that body acceptance waxes and wanes. It doesn't stay positive forever if there's been a sad history. So try to accept the bumps and hiccoughs because the downswing is sure to be relatively short after all the great work you've done on your image, inside and out.
