The street style photo (#3) might not be to everyone’s (or anyone’s) taste! LOL! However, there was something compelling about it that inspired me to take a screen shot and save it.
I decided to try and adapt the style for my 64 yo self today. I was going to be walking a lot and taking stairs in order to visit 10 different places on a house tour. 3 of the homes were apartments above stores, 4 were townhouses over 3 stories, 2 were 2 story homes, and one was a church celebrating 150 years. It was going to be hot and sunny, and sometimes there are lineups before a body can get inside. Some home owners ask that you remove your shoes once inside - and no bare feet - so socks.
The top is cotton with cutwork. It kept the sun off my arms. The pants were black linen. Temps reached 34degC and I walked the entire route and all the stairs, and felt pretty hot when it was over. Changed into black shorts and sandals when I got home.
I don’t think it was a particularly stylish outfit, but it was a fun exercise to try and create something with items from my closet that referenced the original - and the trainers were perfect for all the walking!
Just fab enough?
