Angie’s OOTD featuring a column of colour and pleather bottoms https://youlookfab.com/welookf.....-with-blue inspired today’s outfit. The individual items are a mix of new and thrifted. The hunter green pleather bottoms a fab wildcard (worn 16 times already!) a boxy modern cut peacoat my first ever NAS item, classic loafers new in 2021. The sweater, scarf, and bag - all thrifted. Bonus pic - co-ordinating mani!

Comfortable and feeling very ‘me’ with a happiness factor 10+

Sheer black knee-highs can work well here too. Like the way the cream in the scarf picks up your pretty hair!

@ Minaminu - good question. Looking at my photo records, it looks like I share an OOTD about once a week. In general they are what I call ‘elevated casual’ outfits that I wear for errands, bridge night, or travelling. I also share ‘every day’ outfits of jeans and t-shirts if I find the colour combination or some other element of the outfit compelling or relevant to a recent blog post or discussion - and also just to keep things real.

I’ll share pictures and tap into the YLF hive mind for a ‘Keep/Return’ if I’m on the horns of a dilemma, or if I have a new item or a wardrobe orphan to be ‘workshopped’.

I take more outfit photos than I share and keep all photos until the end of the year in order to compile an end of year top 10-12.

#1 how I start out most days
#2 what I wear most of the time
#3 what I might wear 2-3 times a week

*I am wearing the outfit posted above all day, since I had appointments/errands, and I have another outing after dinner - and no household chores today! ;-D If I was cleaning bathrooms, baking bread, or working in the garden - I’d change into jeans.

This is fabulous, Carla! I love how you've put those green pleather trousers into rotation. They were such a great purchase. Fun with the scarf and bag, too. And the coat! It looks amazing on you! I'm still waiting for the alterations on mine but will be bringing it out very soon.

@ Helena - oh, yes! I see it. I’ve followed the DOS’s style because her straight shouldered, short waisted physique is close to mine. I’ve picked up some hints on necklines, and silhouettes that work (and also what doesn’t work ). Green is one of her colours for sure, though!

@ Suz and Angie - I want to see how you’ve styled your NAS peacoats.

Can I ask a question though. I know you live in Canada. So, what does one do with the coldness factor with regard to lack of socks? Do you wear the cut off pants with boots? I find they don't work well with booties. Then you go into a house (if you are visiting someone) and you have to take off your shoes, then you are wearing socks? Or do you just suffer through and have cold feet with no socks? (I can't imagine!)

This is what I struggle with when I consider buying cropped pants!

@ Mirjana - in the pic I’m wearing nude knee high stockings for a little extra warmth. In winter I wear them with boots that close the gap. If I go somewhere where I would take off the boots, I wear co-ordinating wool socks or the nude stockings and slip on shoes that I carry in a bag.

Carla, thank you for coming back on my question, I always look forward your outfits as they are interesting and varied! I was wondering if taking pictures was also helpful to see how your style changed. It's a fine balance between keeping records and still having fun in this journey and I think it's a great idea of compiling an annual top 10!

Nicely done,you are really settling into your style.l know exactly what you mean when you say it feels like me.It’s a very good sign in an outfit! and what a trendy manicure,my teenage daughter is wearing something very similar as we speak and l am tempted myself.Saves having to decide what colour to pick
