Spring like conditions have got me baring ankles, and I’m really ‘into’ my (classic) loafers for some reason. They are showing up in lots of my daily outfits!

#1 worn all day, including for a walk with DH. Too warm for a puffer. We saw snowdrops and crocus in bloom - 3-4 weeks earlier than last year.

#2 worn for the weekly Bridge Night at the Community Center. The group has been growing and we are now up to 12 tables (48 people).

Do you ever rediscover something old, fall in love with it all over again, and wear, wear, wear!?

Champagne capsule! And hello snowdrops. Ours were also 3-4 weeks earlier than last year. (Done now). We have daffodils and some cherry blossoms. But also snow!

Glad you have rediscovered your loafers. (Also, I love the pintuck seam on those jeans.)

I do indeed rediscover old favourites, quite often, actually. I am trying to think of the last time it happened, and it's actually been a while -- but that is largely because I am still wearing most of those old favourites on a regular, if not constant, rotation.

I'm with Suz in that we do rediscover old faves. They come into rotation when you're in the mood for them again - or you've found a refreshed way to wear them - or they suddenly became more comfotable.

These golf shoes went out of rotation for a while. Now that I've fixed the rubbing issue with moleskin - I'm wearing them a lot! Fab with full length wide legs instead of sneakers. Refreshed!

Loafers just feel right, I have been wearing them a lot daily for spring with snow. I have refallen for my water shoes which look like slip-on sneakers. They saw no wear last year. But they are great for rocky beaches and sharp sand. So they live next to my small swim collection.

Yes I do, particularly with classic items. Last winter I rediscovered my black leather jacket bought about 7 years ago and enjoyed wearing it with wide-leg jeans and dresses.

You are really honing your style of late. I love everything about these outfits for you. The silhouettes, the colours (such good mixes too). I can see that loafers are perfect your style so they should be favourites. I do have items that I have not worn for ages and they become workhorses again. Hence I do not donate too quickly.

As to rediscovering, I have a well-known tendency to deaccession things too soon, which makes rediscovery tricky. Working on this.

I like a good classic loafer but have given up on them — I simply cannot find one that doesn’t immediately slip off my heels. It seems I need shoes that lace up or have straps if they are to stay on my foot. I’m kind of waiting for oxfords to come back around — isn’t it time yet? I still have some old ones that I like, even though they are not the most chunky-soled variety of shoe that seems more current. Maybe with the return of ballet flats (which again are not my friends), lower profile soled oxfords will return too. Or maybe I should just make them a thing!

I'm like you Janet, I love the look of loafers but have yet to find a pair that will stay on my feet. Also not crazy about ballet flats. I've been eyeing some t-bar loafers from Hereu, they are not quite as classic but they come up higher on the foot so I'm thinking they might not slip off as easily. I'm still wearing my oxfords though, in my head they are a classic that will never not be in style

I do this as well. Last year it was a pair of black flats; this year it’s a truly ancient red silk blouse. I have been seeing more red in the stores and the big spaced print also feels current.

You know, the last time I really made a habit of pulling something out of retirement was when I was much younger--college or so. When you find something loud in your drawer, like heart sunglasses or something, and wear them around in a "look at me" fashion. But eyeballing my closet right now, I can see some quieter candidates. A yellow tote with a smart design. A cardigan with a strong point of view, begging to be paired with black basics. An aughts-patterned tank that is so old, it just might be cool again.
