Travel within the province of Ontario is a little safer now that 83% of the population over 12 years of age has been double vaxed, and numbers are trending downwards. DH and I are restricting our travel beyond our county to medical and family stuff. This week I travelled to Ottawa in order to check in on my 84 yo mother who is editing her possessions while awaiting an opening at the assisted living place she wants to join. In the interim it is all about keeping her safe where she currently lives.
I wanted to present as a little conservative, since this trip was about getting POA on record where needed so I can run interference for mom as required. Most folks were dressed pretty casual, though the bank manager was dapper in his modern cut suit! Mom lives in a cool downtown neighbourhood, and we went out for dinner every night!
#1 day one, which included the 4 hour drive
#2 day two
#3 day three (turned out to be a gorgeous day and we did a lot of walking)
#4+5 cold rainy day, which included the drive home
Both trousers, a sweater, and a silk scarf are thrifted items, and the black trench is very old and I save it for special occasions. The off-white items are new, and are supper cozy. I brought sneakers, but wore the loafers all 4 days. They are new, and have mostly been worn for short periods of time. They sailed through 12 hour days with flying colours.
Thanks for looking!
