It was a strange day and I was feeling a little strange! The weather couldn’t decide if it wanted to be cool and foggy or hot and humid. I wanted to wear my wide leg jeans, but I also wanted to wear my new/thrifted blazer jacket that I just got back from the dry cleaners. Decided to go with a mix of trendy/modern/classic/retro with dressy and casual juxtaposition. Black mesh t from the closet, classic dressy black low heeled pumps, retro thrifted burgundy Coach bag, thrifted scarf as a belt to pull all the colours together. It could have been discordant, but I feel it sort of works. Well, I felt good

It more than works - I love this. The delicate shoes and fitted top complement the wide jeans and boxy jacket perfectly. Very successful experiment.

The whole thing is great, but I have to ask about the mesh top. Did you go anywhere in it? Would you? I love that look, but have yet to make the plunge of visible bralette, which so many fashionistas seem to be doing. I have a mesh shirt, but usually throw a black tank top underneath.

And...I enjoy the juxtaposition of textures and styles here.

@ Carol - I wore the ensemble (with the jacket) to bridge Tuesday night, and I wore the outfits below out and about in Florida earlier this year.

For the Florida outfits I wore a Wolford bathing suit top underneath. It was a ‘one of’ on a remarkable sale (under $10) as there were no matching bottoms.

I suspect the top looks sheerer in the first images, because I’m using a ring light to get good photos, whereas the two photos below are taken in natural light (from a window). DH says the mesh top doesn’t look particularly sheer IRL.
