WIW…a few of my favourite things

It’s one of those gorgeous golden fall days - cool, but not cold - and sunny. Went for a swim, and then a long walk with DH. Wearing oldies but goodies. Love them all!

I’ve been extra busy since my mother relocated from her retirement home in Ottawa, to one in my town. Her choice! She’s happy, and doing very well. Getting her settled in has been taking up extra time - up to date medical, dental, and eye check-ups resulted in adjustments (she was being over medicated!) As a result, I haven’t had much time to update my closet for F/W and ‘25 is looking like a ‘low-buy’ year.

Thank goodness for an organized collection of mix-and-match classics! I’ve been happy with my outfits all summer, and haven’t been struggling to put looks together for fall.

Thank goodness for classics. They always fit the bill. It's good that your mom has you for her support. Imagine, getting overmedicated and not realizing it because you've been overmedicated.

I was trying to only add 12 new wardrobe items this year but am at 14 already with two months to go. I also have had three gifts and added four second hand pieces. So overall I am similar to other years...It is not excessive but my Europe trip led to three non planned purchases (I added five things but two were on my list) and then I added two items for the black tie event....and I blew the budget.

Oh Carla yes, Neil’s mother is 89 and not the easiest mother-in-law: we are having to do a great deal for her since his Dad died on 1 July and sometimes I don’t cope with her too well… think I manage to mostly hide that from her.

Perfect fall look, Carla! It's how I imagine all small-town Ontario women look strolling along Main Street with coffee and a pastry, wandering from book shop to vintage clothing shop to cafe etc. I also like your hair at this length ! Glad to hear your mother is settling in and her meds are getting sorted out.

@ LJP - LOL! At Pilates mat class this am, I realized that 8/12 of us ‘women of a certain age’ had grey bobbed hair between chin and shoulder length!
