Witch, I mean which way is this dress best?

Ok, so I decided to keep the Banana Republic dress, even though some didn't like it, Angie gave me the thumbs up, bless her heart! I ended up exchanging it for a smaller size (the SA insisted the smaller size look so much better) I have a tough time with dresses, usually too short and this one is such a great length.

Anyway, will you help me figure out which of these work/ I have a hard time with the hose, shoe thing and would appreciate any and all feedback. I will have an occasion to wear this soon and want to be prepared:

1-2 Clark black booties and micro fishnets, with and without gray tweed moto
3 Tall black boots
4 Fidji black pumps
5-6 Fidji tan oxfords
7-10 Sam Ed. booties with micro fishnets with and without gray tweed moto, zipped or
not
11 With black cardi and animal print belt with booties
12 With scarf and booties

I like all of these versions. Honestly, I'm liking this dress much more in a size down - the sleeve fit was bothering me before, but I see it's not an issue here.

Gosh, they all look great. You have a very versatile dress there! If I was going to be nitpicky, I'd say that I like the SE boot combos the least. I think it's a textural thing--they look more casual than the black booties/boot and fidjis. Fab styings!

This is such a pretty dress! I'm so glad you kept it. Sizing down was wise, this one looks even better on you. I really LOVE #11, but the rest looks fab, too.

2,3,4,5 and 11 are my favorites.
I'm trying to embrace the looks with the booties, but I don't like them as well as the others. I do think the booties might work better if you bookend the color better in the upper half of your outfit. In 9 and 10, the jacket and booties don't seem harmonious together to me.

I think they work if you want to dress it down. I would probably add a denim topper though. I think a light colored scarf would help tie in the booties too. I think it's a great outfit but not as awesomely fab as the other iterations. Just my 2 cents, of course.

I'm kind of 'duh' about hose/shoes myself, but I like #1/2 best! I really just wanted to say I like the dress on you a lot.

I am loving 1,2, 3 and 11 -- and you could add that jacket to #3 and it would be great in my book! Or, add the tall boots to #11. Lots of great combos!

The dress is terrific - it must have been - and looked - too big in the larger size.

I really like the booties in 7-10 and look forward to seeing them in other outfits -i just like those 2 pair in the other pictures with this dress, personally.

Carole, I missed your original post, but this dress is just FABULOUS on you! I know how hard it is to get dresses long enough, that almost any dress the right length is in the running. This one ticks all the boxes though, length, the color is on trend and super flattering on you and the cut of the top part suits you very well. It looks like the fabric has some good heft and drape and like you could style it many different ways...I'm sure you've only just gotten started with that. I like all of these except for the tan Fiji oxfords, but that's just because it's not my favorite shoe. The booties look particularly modern to me, and the more casual ones could be bookended with a more casual topper, as mentioned above. Yay for your dress success!

My favourites are 1,2,3, 11.

This dress is fabulous on you.

However I feel you need to explore still a bit more with the toppers.

The dress has a clean line which is a plus as a base for building an outfit.

I really like the simple, clean look of your jacket here. Paired with the dress and the booties, you get a very sleek look. But please also tried a denim, as was suggested, and a cropped, very fitted jacket with the knee high boots. How about a long sleeveless cardi? a fur sleeveless jacket? a cardi with some frills? A blazer? Keep experimenting. You can really do a lot with this dress.

#4 and #5 would be the only variations I am not totally crazy about. To my eye the shoes are not quite right. The black booties, the black boots and the grey booties are sensational with the dress.

Claire, thanks so much for your thoughtful comments, and I appreciate your feedback on the shoes. I have such problems with footwear (really bad bunions) and would have never been able to even wear a dress before finding some suitable options through YLF! I will have to play around with the booties with some scarves and other options, I just like the casualness of them but see how they probably need a little more styling.

Krishindoux, you make some great new suggestions, I do have a sleeveless black cardi but it's longer, I do have a black blazer and denim so that will keep me busy experimenting. Thanks for all the great ideas:)

Deborah, I think I see what you see with the shoes in 4 and 5. Just thought I'd throw those on while I was at it, but a little to "librarian", huh?!
