For me two purchases I'm eyeing. The allsaints elora. I think I did a post of this. If I find I will link. I actually own and love this jacket in black with matte nickel hardware but I'm really interested in this black/black version. It's a very fitted jacket, although the model but be wearing 2-3 sizes up to get this look. I wear it mostly over dresses, skirts, and with a high rise jean or dress pant. But I do love having black leather with black hardware because it's so versatile. So strongly considering that. I could use a nice knock around, nice hiking with friends, not serious sport, that's kind of been missing in my wardrobe. I wish it had a hood but that's not a deal breaker. Since I'm not planning a big buy at NAS I did do serious damage at the VB 20% off sale price sale. I had wanted to lemming Angie's denim blazer but missed that. This blazer is seriously classy, the tailoring, buttons are super fab and oversized lapels has a retro almost frock coat like vibe, substantial denim but as I run cold it's a full 4 season buy and makes denim at work possible. Fit and quality superb as usual. Big splurge was the sale on sale of the miller navy leather jacket. I have only one leather blazer thank you Ummlila (I bow to you and wait to lemming again) the Rebecca Taylor leather blazer which has seen hard wear and is still going strong. Any thoughts on the barbour? I have not worn this brand. The collar looks like it could be a little stiff. Lots of pockets which is handy. Good luck to everyone!! I saw the first two items last week, and they were gorgeous. Barbour IS a little stiff all over. It's part of the appeal of the robust equestrian vibe, IYKWIM.

Well, if my budget were more generous I'd be after that VB denim jacket, too, and the blue AllSaints, because silver hardware is right up my alley!

However. These are all worth trying for you, I think! As for me, I wish the Barbour came in blue. Still trying to upgrade/ replace my old J. Crew waxed cotton anorak. I cannot let it go until its true replacement arrives, however shabby it looks. The pockets pockets pockets and endless adaptability keep me wearing it. It does have a hood, as well, but best of all -- hood is removable!

Gorgeous jackets! I love the VB but it’s getting harder to justify something like that when I have so many jackets already and so little time to wear them.

One other note, I don’t own any Barbour, but I’ve tried on a few, and they can run small so you might want to order your regular size,and i size up

I owned a Barbour jacket - bought about 10 yrs ago and sold it 4 yrs ago . It would have been a forever piece had it fit me better but as kkards noted , they fit quite small , especially under the arms , and I was pretty small when I bought it ( never buy things at your lowest weight ever , lol) . I paid a heck of a lot more than what Nordstrom is selling it for now so I’d totally jump on it . I’d order in a hot minute if only they shipped to Canada ! That VB navy leather is outstanding - lucky you !

Angie - Thank you! Very cute hooded blazers. The kind of thing I’m always all over. Nice details. I’m going to be on no buy, after NAS, till sept for the obvious reasons. Plus I can’t justify as I have several of the VB hoodie inserts so I can get similar look. But very much in my wheel house. You’d be really proud of blue in my closet. When my son started at Penn State, no one wears black!! I’ve never seen so much spiritwear. So the first navy theory gabe blazer was purchased. No I have 9 blazers either navy, the two new above, or plaid with blue and black. Definitely high into the blue/black combo!!
Ummlila - trust in our girls the Veronica’s. The Miller is a perennial so they keep doing it in different fabrics and metals. The original which I have in black silver comes in black, navy, white with a choice of hardware. I’m sure they will bring out a blue leather and gold in the future. Patience is a virtue (just not mine)
Suz - wow. I love that jacket. That’s exactly what I was looking for. So no you can’t let it go. We will both keep our eyes peeled. I can see you on the AllSaints Elora navy. Very stunning and perfect for your wardrobe. I hope you are feeling better and you’re completely recovered soon. I was hit by a car in Med school. Janet - you do have an incredible jacket collection. I wear a blazer to work every day and often on the weekends. So many are now under $5/wear. Including my VB scuba’s. But even I can’t really justify the leather. It’s a want, certainly not a need, but it should get hard wear.
Kkards - It’s hard to buy for irl and not aspirational pets. Best (ok not totally serious but serious iykwim) part of work is getting to choose an outfit and wear great blazers and boots (even if no one but me notices!). Thank you on the sizing. That coat seems to run big but I tend to always size up in coats. Hum..,
Lisa - Oy yes had skirts tailored at lowest weight and snug. Can you say sausage? But now I have trouble buying too big so it’s not too small!! Will I ever get sizing right! On the blazer - brooding, sale/sale, girl math and American Express points. I have no excuse. Except it was retail therapy. DS is moving to florida to start chiropractic college and I’m in charge of furnishing the apt. So yeah, great time to buy something for me! Hangs head in shame!! But yeah, needed my dopamine fix!

I have no clue about Barbour. The coat looks nice. I would trust Angie’s assessment.

I am an enabler. I would definitely buy a second black elora with different hardware. You know what you love and you wear it on repeat. That’s true personal style.

Staysfit - it’s so cool to be your jacket twin!! I can’t even explain it to myself but it just looks really special. Plus all 16 5 star reviews (and at regular price no less). I hate final sale. But I know the brand well. So very excited. I’m m interested how you end up styling it!

I’m really keen on the Elora. My favorite bag ever for day, the coach drifter mixed media has black hardware and I really love that. And my VB scuba is black w black zips. There’s just something I find luxe about that. Considering my VB splurges I thinking of trying for the Elora and waiting a bit on the Barbour. Anyway have till the 15th to decide. Itmw will look forward to the Miller’s arrival!!

Gryffin, I'll add that Babours are beautifully made! Popular with my clients too. They work well in the PNW! I love their equestrian and Ralph Lauren vibe.

The reason I don't have one is because I don't find them sufficiently warm. I prefer a short and lightweight puffer with a hood - like my one from Save The Duck. Cosier too. Sooooooo bear that in mind, since you run cold like I do

Thank you Angie. You don’t wear short puffers as my butt gets really cold!! I do prefer a hood as you do. This would not be for deep cold but fall hiking or woodsy outdoor stuff that I want to look nicer than “gear” fleeces but be able to layer and be comfortably warm. I also really hate too snug is coats and like roomy but not sloppy. This has been a difficult item to find. Also not stiff but with enough structure and excellent fabric not to look like a crumpled mess. Not sure. But that’s the nicest I’ve seen so far. But want to make a practical decision.
