Now you need a warm weather version of those boots!

I also meant to add to your other WIW post that it took me years to switch the black to dark blue in my wardrobe. I took my time, stuck to my budget and plan, and relaxed into it. I don't know if you want to switch out some of the black to earth tones in your wardrobe over time. But for the moment, it makes sense that you have a lot of black because of your dress code requirement at work.

Yes, Angie , I do need a warm weather black/white shoe! Probably a leather sneaker of some sort . Will have to keep an eye out !

It probably makes sense to make a switch away from black to other colours, but I'm really directionless now without having a full-time "career" to dress for. I sort of feel that beyond dressing for my part time job, it doesn't matter anymore, which is unsettling. It's a strange feeling - exiting out of the workforce, and not having a life outside of it. Covid seclusion is adding to that feeling, I suppose.

Thanks Gryffin, for your kind words - you really know how to make a girl feel good !

Lisa P, retired and semi-retired life can put our wardrobe in flux at the best of times. I frequently see that with my clients. And with a year of COVID - and counting - on top of it all ....things are even more in flux and unsettling. Not to mention the doldrums of a Canadian Winter. Hang in there!

In time, you will find the right style mix for your new lifestyle. Reread this:

For now, make sure you like your black work outfits. Have fun creating with what you have. On your off days, tap in extra hard into what you feel like wearing. Soul search. Try to understand those needs/feelings, and satisfy them as best as you can with existing wardrobe items. When you think something is missing from your look, or you have an idea on how to evolve your style a little - write it down. Mull over it. Try not to make an impulsive purchase.... yet

FWIW, it looks like you are doing VERY well style wise! Far from directionless.

Your boots are great! Great outfit.

Thank you again for this great advice , Angie . I need to take a deep breath and regroup .
