In my typical way of veering off course, I thought I needed a nice wool coat and instead fell for a parka. For years I was thinking when the time comes to replace a winter coat I would love a tailored wool coat, possibly in grey or white. My reality though is that the weather here usually hits some low at some point, where all I wear for two months or more is my black down jacket and black wool lined boots. A wool coat can still get life though, before and after deepest, darkest winter. Even though dark blue (or any dark color) is not my best, this special shade of dark blue appealed to me as well as something about the slightly sporty yet ladylike styling. I haven't tried it on yet, so I'd have to be sure the volume doesn't overwhelm me.

My current winter coat wardrobe is a boxy brown wool toggle coat that I think I like the idea of more than the practice, a fabulous long black puffer, and a green lady military style parka with fake fur hood, quite fitted.

Any thoughts?
