Tomorrow I have a meeting with some hedge fund clients, plus a partner at the law firm I do contract work with (as a lawyer) and some support staff.

These are my potential outfit ideas.

I am definitely wearing the navy pants because all my other dress pants need alterations. These only need a hem, which I will do today, so let me know what you think about pant length.

I am also definitely wearing the blue Jeffrey Campbell pumps.

My up in the air points are:
Jacket -- should I do cream tweed or white tux?
Blouse – I love the light blue lace but not sure about how it goes with the shoe color. Should I just do a basic navy instead? (I also have white blouses that I didn't get into).

Handbag – can I get away with my cognac tote or should I do a blue satchel?

I like the navy too with the bouclé better...but am partial to the untextured blazer. The shoes are awesome.

Fabulous all round. Love the light blue shoes, and how the cognac bag matches your hair.

I vote #2 for the client meeting. That outfit is the most professional.

#5 looks perfect. The pants could be hemmed as long as possible since this is being used as a "formal" business outfit, IMO. The lace blouse and shoes go together fine, though I'd be tempted to wear black shoes for business meeting.

I really like the white tux jacket - more summery plus less casual.

My perfect idea of business meeting at this level your'e describing, if not a complete suit, would be the lace blouse and white tux jacket, black slacks, black shoes and black handbag. However, I know that all cities, businesses and offices have their own comfort zones and dress "codes" spoken or unspoken. And you didn't specify your role in the meeting, which would also make a difference if it were me choosing what to wear.

In any case, all the pieces you show are lovely, and you will look great.

I like the navy top with the tweed jacket too. As for a bag....I think I'd go with one of the two navy bags.....

I'd choose the most conservative option, no lace, no tassels, no fringe.
So the column of darks option, with navy bag and white tux - unless the tux jacket is made of a shiny fabric.

Thanks, all. I have 3 suits. I can get away with not wearing one and the law firm staff have seen all of them, they are dark for summer, and anyway I need to have the pants taken in due to losing some weight. Can you tell I didn't plan ahead with the clothes try-on? My preference is for the tweed jacket since it's fairly light weight and doesn't wrinkle.

love the tweed jacket--but then I tend to use texture to add interest to my outfits, since I generally wear neutrals. so no surprise I have an affinity for #2.

I like #1 best. To me, that outfit is professional while also being a bit more authentic to your style. For bags, I like the Tory Burch navy satchel

I say go with #2 given all your constraints. I like the tux jacket but if it wrinkles that's not as good. You look wonderful in all of these! But #2 feels the most professional. I'd go with a navy bag.

Here's my vote for #2: white tweed jacket over a column of dark color. This is a more powerful, confident look in my opinion. I find the lace top distracting and the white tux jacket does not pair well with the other items.

Those shoes ARE awesome! I bought them in a beige suede a couple months ago but returned as they were too small. These are a good price! My arm could be twisted to try again, a size bigger!

#2 and dark blue satchel. The texture of the jacket and (really awesome) color of the shoes add plenty of interest while being very professional.

For this type of meeting I'd try to look expensive and commanding in a way that all parties recognize. I know we'd like to think everyone understands Chanel or Chanel-inspired jackets but let's face it, some will see "frayed edge" and that's where it will stop.

So to me it'd be the column of navy color + the white tux jacket + your light blue shoes. I think you could either do a highly matched look with the blue satchel or the cognac (which you'd probably find more interesting!).
