This is me. The real me. The unpolished me. At this moment, the unapologetic me.

The Brazillian Blowout is growing out. I was curious to see just how much. Today I let my hair air dry. I didn’t use any stying products. This is the wash and go, wild and free me.

I am not sure about the image I see in the mirror. Who is this woman? I have been really happy wearing my hair sleek and shiny. I am not sure what my students (or their parents) will think when they view today’s videos. I want to believe that they will see past the wild hair and see the teacher who loves them.

Putting on a brave face, here I go!

I think your students will think you look fabulous! Your hair looks healthy with lots of body and I’d love to have a few of those curls.

I love it! But, will admit that I’m biased, since I’m a huge proponent of embracing natural curl. And, you’re keeping it real for your students. Are you grateful for the transition to your natural color? I know it took a while, and a bit of effort.

Ha....The hair may be different but I’m sure your students will recognize the caring warm smile. (as an aside. I’m finally learning what my natural hair color is, after 20 years of coloring it)

Your kind comments are melting my heart. You all should be my mirror more often. During this time of so many uncertainties, being worried about how my hair air dries is sooooooo very small on the scale of life worries. I do confess to having mix feelings of “go ahead, be brave “ confidence and “what if.....?” Insecurities. My emotions would seriously run amuck if I did not put some effort into reining them in.

Kathie, yes I am happy I decide to transition to my own hair color. It is still an assortment of shades in the back, but the front and side look a bit more uniform, which make me happy.

Kkards, Carla, Laurie, CarolS, Sterling and Angie you must all provide therapy services on the side. My heart is so warmed by your words.

Vildy, Ummlila, Keturah, Slim Cat, Jules, Texstyle, Kate, Rebekah and Jenn you sure know how to wipe away the “what if’s”. I so appreciate your sweet comments!

Thank you all so much. I am going to try adding a little product tomorrow to see if it may smooth things out a bit. My real hair wants to frizz at the slightest hint of moisture in the air. Maybe I need to work with the curl and give it a chance for a few days, to see what happens. I admit to really liking the predictability of smooth straight hair.

I think it looks even better like this than straightened! And I say that as someone who has wavy/ curly hair that usually gets straightened, but mine is not as well-behaved as yours.
