Suz, I think the HL dress will work with different shoes and while my preference is to wear the Okalas, of course, that is impossible in NYC in mid-December, so the Aquatalias will be the way to go when we're out.
Greyscale, I think you touched on something about the "shift style" and that's why it works. I hadn't thought of that, but this may be why it feels so "fluid" on me. Thanks for offering that.

Gryffin, I'm so excited you like the HL, too. Yes, it is the Helmut Lang "Nova" Jersey Dress and it's on sale now on the Nordstrom site, although there aren't many sizes left. I did order two sizes, a small and a medium, and what you see, above, is the medium, so I did size up. Honestly, I probably could have sized up to a large and that still may have worked, but since I have narrow shoulders, the medium was fine for me. I hope you can find the size you're looking for.
