ITA on shorts v dresses when it’s hot. I think I wear more shorts in Berlin than I did in Tampa.

Those brands sound like just what I was thinking of—using the traditional methods to do something different, and presumably flat hierarchies/you’re buying nearly from the producer.

Sal, that's really interesting about your solid vs patterned pieces. I sometimes find myself attracted to solid (or near solid) pieces in bright colors, but once I get them into my wardrobe, I find I feel rather "loud" in them. I do think I could use at least one great patterned piece in my summer wardrobe. Almost all of my florals are for cooler weather.

SF, exactly!

Yes to some floaty dresses! Linen maybe?

I can't wait for sandal weather - it has been the world's longest spring here this year. I hate to admit it but I own lots of sandals and usually get a few more each year.

Definitely sandals! You probably have at least 10 months of the year you can wear them!

So, I did order a new pair of sandals--a style aberration for me, but I wanted something very casual for the beach and around the house/neighborhood.

I also got my summer clothes out of storage ("storage" being a zipper bag on the top shelf of my closet). There were a few pieces I was happy to see, and a few more that looked rather tired and worn, despite my fond memories of them. I may need slightly more than I thought.

RobinF, I have a lot of linen in my wardrobe. It's so useful for summer!

Suntiger, I could wear them that long, but I really try not to! I do my best to extend boot season as long as physically possible!

Nice sandals. And just in time too (she said, fanning herself).

And ps if you could share your experience with Elizabeth Suzann - I'm checking out the selection.

Sloper, here’s my original post about my first ES purchase: https://youlookfab.com/welookf.....zann-dress

One caveat: the Elizabeth Suzann company I purchased from is a very different company from the one that exists now. When I bought my pieces, they were a much bigger operation with a customer service team and a production facility. Now, I believe it’s just Elizabeth. I have no doubt the quality will be just as good or better, but the experience might be very different.

At least when replacing summer pieces you know you will wear them... and if they are worn out that's nothing to feel bad about.

It's the "I am sick of this" or "I have been looking at this for four years and worn it three times" that make me feel bad...
