I've been shopping twice at Stanford the last month. The Nordstrom store there is larger than the closer store, but surprisingly, I didn't find much I wanted to buy. The skirts I'd seen online weren't there and the few skirts I did see seemed flimsy and clingy. I did find two scarves for warmer weather.

I was inspired by Janet's posts to look for a snake print skirt.

There was more of the higher priced stuff than usual, or so it seemed to me. Later I wondered if the news articles about the IPOs and expected new-minted millionaires in this area motivated the stores to cater to an expected upgrade in clothes buying. I didn't check out the men's department to see if something similar happened.

I went to BR and there found a skirt I liked (online it was marked not available for a few more weeks) and even found another one on sale. Here's some of the try-on photos. The snake print is nice and has a lining. Haven't worn it yet, but I will in warmer weather.

The later photos are from this weekend--dinner at the Cliff House at Point Lobos in SF. Haven't been there for a while, but it's a favorite place to take visitors. I bought this Nic & Zoe sweater some time last year on sale, hadn't worn it until now. Unlike other N&Z tops it falls straight, doesn't flare out a bit, so catches on the midriff. I'm also wearing a pair of N&Z pull on pants for the first time. Seemed like a good idea, but I'm not sure I like the cinched feeling at the waist.

##1-3 BR skirt with different tops from Last Call, and BR wool jacket. Yes, I do have a black bra on under the off white top. The black top is Tahari, has fringe vertical "stripes" you can't see here.
##4-5 Rag & Bone lightweight wool scarf, not in this color on website, Kate Spade silk scarf--great colors for me.
##6-8 at the Cliff House. Made reservation too late to get a window seat. Love watching the birds and sea lions. Last one is later--forgot to take a photo when the light was still good. Well, you get the idea.
