In this case, WIAW is What I Almost Wore.
I rarely wear dresses. I have this thrifted J Crew thin cotton sheath that I bought a few years ago. I keep thinking I'll wear it on hot summer days, but then I don't. I decided to try it over my flares. I then added the hat, my old sweater, and Birks so I could bump around at home. If I went out, I would likely switch shoes to my heeled cognac sandals or cognac combat boots and then play with sweater on/off, hat on/off, and potentially add some amber necklaces (if I didn't wear glasses or the hat).
I liked this more than I expected, but the flares are tough for me to work with at home. I like to be barefoot as much as possible, so I changed.
