Hey, everyone!

First of all, sorry I've been MIA the last few weeks. There's been a lot going on offline so I've just been checking the blog about once per week and not posting or commenting as much as I'd like. But things are calming down and I'm happy to be back!

Second, as I said in the title of this post, I am now the proud owner of a gorgeous pair of white jeans! Y'all encouraged me to take the plunge and after waiting very patiently for a couple months, Torrid finally got a pair that are perfect for me.

These jeans fit ALL my criteria for new denim:

1. They must be comfortable.
2. They must be durable.
3. They must be polished (no tears, little to no embellishment).

And an important one for WHITE items, in particular: they must be OPAQUE. I wore black underwear as a test, and I could barely see it through them, so I expect I won't be able to see most underwear at all.

I DID have to go up a size, so I'm glad I took the time to run to the mall to try them on. They're a lot stiffer than their blue jeans. If they're too big as I continue to (slowly) lose weight, I plan on having them tailored. I may or may not shorten the hem a bit because they touch the ground with no shoes on. I'll be trying them with different kinds of shoes ASAP to see what works.

I'm also happy because they're flared, which is a silhouette I've been missing for a long time. They're going to look so crisp and they're the perfect combination of retro and modern for me. They also have white denim shorts and a white denim vest, which were super tempting but I'm trying to be good and stick to my mental list of things I truly need. Maybe there will be a sale and I'll score those items later. In the meantime, this girl has joined Team White Jeans and couldn't be happier!
