White Frayed Hem Jeans

I have been home from my vacation for a little over a week now and I am assessing the damages, both monetarily and physically. The white jeans I was wearing during the giant rain storm I wrote about here has dark stains on the rear which I think are from the leather seat in the car or the bar stool. They are my favorites and I got them a Talbot's several years ago. Talbot's, they have the same styles year after year, right? Wrong. This year all they have are frayed hem crops in white. I like the frayed hem look on blue jeans but not so much white. Does anyone else feel this way? I tried different brands but none fit as well on my body as the Talbot's. I am bummed.

Does anyone here wear frayed hem white jeans? Do you think they will they stay current?

Oh no! Have you tried oxyclean?

I can see what you mean about frayed hems changing the look of white jeans. If you like white jeans for their crisp polished look, the raw hem isn't quite right. (But for my more RATE look I might consider the raw hem.)

Maybe you could have them hemmed to a cropped length you'd like?
I kind of like the fraying because it slightly un-polishes them and looks very summer to me?

If you decide you really want the ones from the last year or two, have you thought about checking Ebay.? You can set the search filters to pull up only new ones, only in your size, etc. You can even set up email alerts to let you know when new ones are listed. I've found a number of recently discontinued favorites this way.

Do they come in a longer length (i.e. Regular (not cropped) or tall size) that you can have hemmed?

Deb I really enjoy my frayed white jeans. They're a slim BF fit on me, cropped to the ankle. Definitely gives a less dressy vibe than normal white jeans, perhaps that's what's throwing you with them?

I know what you mean. The released hem blue jeans have a color variation that white or just hacked blues do not have. I still think a raw edge on white jeans can be fun. Maybe they need to be more choppy or high/low or let them unravel to be more fringed. Since they fit you, you might get the Talbots and play. Try rolling different ways or do a hack job. My white jeans have a frayed hem. I think the fray makes them look not quite so pristine and fun for summer. The fray adds a little interest, IMO.

Like Greyscale mentioned, you might want to give Oxyclean a try. I've had good results with it. For several years my son had to wear white baseball pants (seriously!?). The Oxyclean really helped.

Oh that is bad news. When you have such an excellent fit on a fave pair. I vote to also try Oxy. If that doesn't work I would head for straight bleach and hang in the sun. I know that is harsh but you don't have anything to lose.

Gah! I can relate! I want to replace last summer's white Anne Taylor kick crops, but no luck so far. On the other hand I have some faded black denim I chopped last year that I wear all the time. I LOVE the frayed edge!

I vote give the frayed hem version a try if the fit and fabric is perfect.

Have you tried Tommy Bahama? I have two pair of cropped white jeans which are several years old - one from Talbots and the other Tommy Bahama (not sure the styles are still available). The fit is similar for me. This year's version of Tommy Bahama crops do not have a frayed hem.
