Which Utility Jacket do I take?

I am packing for Florida and I am trying to decide which Utility Jacket to take. I have a shorter one from The Loft (no find) and a longer one from Soyaconcept. I plan to wear it with my swirly skirt, Jesse Kamm pants, jeans, etc. The pictures are of the swirly skirt and Jesse Kamm pants. Excuse the no makeup, bad photos (I took - Mr Style Fan is away), hair has not been done, etc., etc.

The first grouping is The Loft jacket and the second grouping is the Soyaconcept jacket.

I like them both a lot on you. Does the LOFT one looks as good buttoned as the Soya? I love the way it fits at the waist when buttoned. I slightly prefer the darker brown with pants (for color), both colors look great with skirt. Both silhouettes are very nice, but I like the shoulder line on the brown a bit more. I guess I vote brown.

What are the Florida temps going to be and would that play into your decisions, along with any other mix-and-match options?

It is difficult for me too Rachy. The one from The Loft is on the big side which makes it look boxy. I like the length better though.

Karen, the temps in Florida (St. Aug) are all over the place. It could be 20 C one day and then 7 C the next. Very unpredictable. Last year it was very warm for the 2 months we were there but that was unusual.
The Loft (green) one does not look as good zippered up. It is a bit too big for me and looks a bit boxy so I never wear it done up. I do like the Soyaconcept (brown) one done up. That is a good point to consider.

Both? The short one looks excellent with the swirly skirt but not with the pants. The longer one looks excellent with the pants and works ok with the skirt. If you can only take one, take the longer one. I really like how you're styling that skirt.

Tough choice! I like the length of the Soyaconcept jacket better with the pants, but have no preference with the skirt. The Loft jacket seems a bit more casual, so it does a better job of creating contrast especially with the skirt -- it brings more "utility" to "utility pretty." I am no help at all!

Thanks, Sarah. The Soyaconcept works well with jeans so it might be ahead. The Loft only works with the skirt.

I prefer the longer jacket with both - esp. since it works buttoned up too.

I like the loft jacket best with the skirt but the longer one is ok too. If you will be able to wear the longer one more, take it.

I'm not seeing a huge difference in length, so I'll go for the one with the ruffly bottom. It looks best with the pants too.

If you can truly only take one, then I’d go with the longer/darker one. If you can manage both, the short one is perfect with the skirt, and the longer one with the pants.

I vote Soyaconcept. It is not too long for the skirt, it looks good open or closed, and the colour is great with both bottoms.

The longer one has a nice shape and fits you so well. The shorter one look a little boxy and shapeless, but somehow looks fine on your figure. So you can wear them both.

They look grey on my screen, but I hope they are more olive IRL, as that will be a better colour for you.

The Cat, the longer one is definitely more fitted. They are both olive green. The longer one is more towards a browner olive and the shorter one is a greener olive. Thank you for your feedback!

FWIW, I just talked to my mom today. She lives about 40 minutes south of Gainesville, and yesterday morning, she had to chisel ice off of her car. I would take whichever one is warmer, because they're having unseasonably cold weather. And the thing with Florida buildings... they don't build them for cold, clammy weather.

(You look great in both, but I especially like the longer one)

I prefer the short jacket with the skirt & the long jacket with the pants. Both jackets are very similar. That being said I would pick the short jacket for your trip. It makes your skirt outfit look super cute & very pulled together. I see you wearing the skirt many times on your trip with multiple t shirts(olive, gold, purple--any color in that skirt). The pants are very nice and can be worn in multiple seasons. The skirt can only be worn in warm weather. It is currently 11 degrees outside my window. I would love to wear your skirt, shirt and jacket but alas I'll have to wait about 5 months for the weather to change. Whatever you do, have fun in Florida

LBD, I have heard about the cold weather in Florida. We have some friends living in St Aug (we have been going there for 5 years) and a friend near Gainsville. Our house does have a furnace and a fireplace (that works). I am taking my puffer (for the ride down), sweaters, etc. It can get cold by the ocean in Northern Florida.
