Thanks for all the input everyone. It seems most of you like the cropped lacy top with it - as do I. Emily K - yes I think I should look for more cropped tops.
Unfrumped - yes the waistband does fit alright in these pictures because
1) I had just put it on so it hadn't stretched yet
2) I had just had a day of cooking so a full tummy, plus my weight is around the highest that I would wear this skirt in. Since I lose weight around the waist first it can get too loose fairly quickly - but makes it a hard choice for alternations because then it could get too tight.
Angie Yes the sleeves are rather long - a common problem with me. Sharan (or other sewers) would this be a hard alteration? (and, in response to you and Lyn67 I have posted number 4 untucked, above)
Rachylou - actually I have some issues with this blue blouse too, and not just worn with this skirt. It has almost been culled a few times, except that it has the great advantage of not needing ironing, and being in one of my favourite colours.
Jenni thanks. I suspect that the vertical proportions are better cropped or tucked. I have another skirt with a similar shape - but no peplum or contrasting waistband, and I'm quite willing to tuck that one.
Black Market New York thanks - I like that black top a great deal myself, and was surprised more people didn't go for it
Ledonna, Mirjana, The Cat and Genuine Joan - Thanks
