I like Summer and Winter the same.

And then Spring.

Autumn and Winter are my dominant seasons.

Fall as well, especially the earlier part when one can do a lot of layering with jackets and still do not need coats.

I don't know what is mi dominant season yet. I have just moved to MD (6 months ago) after many years in MA where it was much colder. We have all the four here, and it remains to see which one dominates. So far I only know it is not spring. The summer has been long and hot for sure.

I personally LOVE spring, but that's not what you are asking. . .

Here in MN, we definitely have all four seasons and there is no telling which will be short or long seasons that year.

I personally don't work much in the summers, so I could (in theory) get by with a very small summer wardrobe.

I think fall must be my dominant season - being well stocked for fall would help get me through winter and half of spring too. . .

I like the winter a lot, as far as clothing preferences go. Here the winter isn't that severe, but even when I lived in the midwest I liked it. Lots of opportunities for layering and wearing boots and tights and such.

Autumn, Autumn, 1000 times Autumn! Followed by winter, spring, and summer last. The only good thing about summer clothing is, it is easier to get by on the cheap.

I think this question will be easier for me to answer once I've had a whole year of a reasonably established wardrobe.

I used to hate winter because I felt like I had nothing to wear but I've really gotten into the boots and layers this year and feel sad that I'll have to put them away soon as Aus edges towards spring.

Now I feel a bit at a loss because I don't have many pairs of summer footwear or dresses.....which really is my dominant season.

My favorite season to dress for is fall. I can still wear most things from spring/summer but in layers! Boots & cute coats, which I'm desperate need of, are so much fun. Spring is my second fav. if its a mild one and that all depends on where I'm currently living. As a Marine Corps spouse I'm all over the place so I need to spread my budget accordingly. I shop for where I'm at or if I know where I'll be at next time fall rolls around (I have 2 more falls in Northern VA and am SOOO thrilled).

Fall is the easiest to dress because you can have so much fun with layering. It's wonderful to wear a scarf because it's pretty rather than because it's too cold.

I hate winter because it's so cold I can't feel pretty covered up in coats.

I love winter. Love the cold, love the layering, love the boots and sweaters and tights!

Fall is great but can be as unpredictable as spring. We tend to get ours later in the year than other parts of the country, so most of my fall and spring is spent being jealous of everyone else wearing their new clothes earlier than I can!

Summer is starting to become my second-favorite season, only because it's the one time of year where I wear a lot of casual clothes (I do more exercising and our vacations and weekends are often planned around physical activities) and take a mental break from all the dressiness of my regular work week. I have really had a blast with the casual wear this summer. I will be sorry to see it end!

MA gals - what would you say is our dominant season? Our summer has been long and hot this year - it's skewing my perspective (not that would choose summer ever...)...I almost think winter? Fall weather can be unpredictable here, too...and I feel like once that cold snap hits, the winter layers come out...even without snow, it's cold enough for boots, scarves, etc.

So I guess, winter, which I'm more comfortable dressing stylishly for in layers, thanks to YLF.

ETA: I am shocked to see anyone on YLF say summer is their fave season to dress for - Kristen, I am going to have to go look through your blog again for summer outfit ideas!

I loathe summer. I'd be perfectly happy to eliminate summer for the rest of my life. I don't even like typical summer activities. I'm also of the opinion that lazy/sloppy dressing hits a low point in the summer. Summer is just a lazy season. It's just all around misery. Have I made it clear just how much I hate summer? Because I really could go on.

Autumn is my favorite, hands down. My skin, hair, and overall complexion sing in autumn. After that, I like winter and spring equally. I love winter dressing and I still look and feel a thousand times better than in summer, but the dryness and beastly cold can be painful. Our springs are pretty cool until late may/early June so I can still enjoy layering and shorter/lighter boots, and shining colors usually mercifully makes an appearance in spring. The worst thing about spring is the anticipation and dread that accompany the beginning of summer.

Huuum I'm not sure which I prefer. I like to have proper distinct seasons each one different. For a couple of years the UK seemed to haved a very indistinct difference and we just sloaped onto the next season without much change. This year has been better. I find the cooler months easier to dress for as you can layer and I always find it easier to warm up than cool down but I do like a warm summer just not too humid or too long!!!! x

Fall and Spring, in that order. Fall allows me to add layers and spring allows me to finally take away a few (mainly a down jacket and socks). Dressing for these seasons comes more intuitively for me. Here in Wisconsin, winter is just something to be endured in a heavy parka and summer is just downright difficult for me in regards to hitting any sort of stride fashion-wise.

Hmmm.... I haven't done all 4 seasons in my new style (read: not jeans and tees) yet but I'm guessing it will be autumn. I loved the boots and layers from winter but I think I'll like being able to switch in some flats sometimes for variety.

I don't know if I really have a dominant season. Fall and spring both seem to be on the short side and summer and winter both seem interminable.

MPJ, it is my *second* favorite; winter is still my #1 season! Good thing I live in Chicago, LOL.

But yeah, the last few years summer has really grown on me. Getting dressed for work is a bit of a challenge, but the relaxed standards in my new office and my increasing affection for active weekend/vacation activities have definitely influenced my attitude. I definitely take it down a notch fashion-wise during the summer, and I think I really needed the break. The time spent casually dressed is making me look forward to my heels and tights as it gets colder!

It used to be spring, but here fall is more like spring so I am changing my mind. As far as clothing styles/colors go- fall is my favorite anyway.

I LOVE Autumn in Minnesota, with the changing fall colors and bringing out the cozy sweaters and for me, the first time in fashion boots! But Winter comes far too soon and lasts far too long....

I love dresssing in summer: dresses, sandals, linen...bring it on! Then again, I am Australian! Is it my dominant season? Not in Denmark! My summer dresses are up to 7 and 8 years old...I bring them out for holidays when I go home and I get to wear them with cardi's and jackets for a short period here But I have loved discovering and using jackets and boots, something I would have used very little in Aust.

I have always adored Autumn - the blue skies, the crisp air, the layers, cozy sweaters, boots, jackets... Yummy! Today is a beautiful pre-Autunm day here in Seattle. Cool enough for long pants and a light jacket but clear skies. Yay!

My area is Autumn/Winter dominant (though I personally always thought of it as more spring-like as that is the season I associate with rain and moderate temperatures.)

Autumn is my favorite season for dressing, but unfortunately summer is my dominant season. I live in Texas and it has been quite a challenge for me to learn to dress for our weather, but since I have embraced skirts and dresses it's now much easier to look stylish but still be comfortable in the warm weather. My other challenge is to artificially create four seasons so I don't feel like it's summer for 8 or 9 months. I use color to help and I chose lighter weight fabrics so I can still layer. Changing up accessories is also helpful.

I love winter! Okay, maybe part of it is because it's home to Christmas, my birthday, and now my wedding anniversary, but I just love to dress in cozy sweaters, loads of layers, and hats & mittens.

Autumn is a close second, though!

Summer. Summer, summer, summer, summer, summer. But tragically, we rarely have any true summer weather here in SF because of the relentless fog. Still, I feel like my true self in summer clothing. The long flowy, patterned skirts in pastels or tropical colors, the straw tote bags, sandals, beachwear, turquoise & aqua & white accessories and handbags--I love, love, love it. I feel truly at peace on the rare warm day when I can glide about in my summer attire. One day this wretched fog will drive me away from my beloved San Francisco and if it does, I hope to retire to a beach in Hawaii.

I love summer and I hate winter. Cold weather, snow, endless layers of thick clothes... NO.

And totally btw, European weather is crazy this year. Volcanos, floods, temperatures from chilling cold to burning hot...

Winter. I'm often confused about Fall clothing (Summer colors stand out yet are the one's I can layer in the Fall) and Fall is a bit short. Since I'm often cold I move to wearing boots and sweaters pretty fast. And I LOVE wearing my cowboy boots with jeans and a sweater. The easiest combo for me to feel fab in. I like spring but it's pretty short and I loathe summer, too hot and sticky. Plus winter layers are the most forgiving for extra weight and buldges.

I like change, so any change of season is fun but autumn is my favorite for the colors and textures after months of steamy humid heat.
I've been trying to figure out what season dominates and find that most years each of the four seasons averages three months here with a few weeks of really hot above 100 F and a few weeks of really cold below 0 F thrown in. Summer is probably dominate as far as need for appropriate warm weather clothing that needs to be replaced most often, but it's my least favorite to buy for.
Carrying over from one season to the next sometimes works but not much with summer. I love white pants but they just get a few weeks of wear in the spring before it gets too hot to wear long pants. That is usually in May. Wearing white pants in the fall just seems off because of the color. They may come out to play if there are some cooler days in early September but that's it.

Fall is my favorite without a doubt. I love fires in the fireplace and the crackle of leaves under foot. The cooler weather means knitwear, sweaters, corduroy, tights, boots and scarves. North Carolina is SO gloriously beautiful in the fall; the skies turn crystal blue. Almost time to get my Alfa Romeo convertible out of the garage. It's so hot now, I'd surely fry my brain driving with the top down! Hot weather definitely dominates the South from May to September.
