What's your Achilles Heel in Fashion?

If you were to do an inventory of my wardrobe, there's no question you'd find that I have a clear penchant for owning far too many jeans.

I'm not really sure why that is, perhaps its an ongoing quest for the perfect pair that will serve me so well that they become the ultimate workhorse. Or maybe its the myriad of styles, colours and washes available that have me wanting to try their new styling possiblities. Or it might simply be that jeans are an easy fashion fallback that I'm in habit of wearing the most. Whatever the reason, I find them really tough to resist.

How about you? What fashion item is your weakness or Achilles heel?

I have 3: boots, jackets and scarves. I’m always on the lookout for unusual or unique jackets and boots.

Well, like many of us, I have at least a dozen Breton t-shirts. My other weakness is pants with a side stripe. I have them in velvet, denim, twill, leggings,
but sadly not in true tuxedo pants.

Roberta: I would call that a wardrobe hole.

My weaknesses are legion. Breton stripes. Anything blue. But mostly footwear I really really love to buy footwear. The good news is, it never goes to waste. Unless it turns out to be a delayed disaster

Dee, I have a similar weakness for jeans, and tell myself it's because of weight fluctuations that I need so many.
My other one is flowered tops. They are so varied and affordable, and great with all the jeans!

Jeans and shoes (all footwear… boots, sandals, trendy tennies, and I have A LOT of Danskos!) Funny thing, I’m wearing a pair of danskos today that I purchased after seeing them on former forum member Alaska Girl. Now I’m really dating myself! I had them in the donate pile after not wearing for years and now I love them all over again! I usually wear them with cuffed denim. You know: Jeans and shoes!

AndiB- Those Danskos are fab, would look great with jeans, don’t tempt me.
ChristelJ - Yep, need our jeans to keep up with any weight changes.
Suz- Looks like plenty of us have a stripes addiction.

Black tops - but they do get a lot of wear.

Statement tops- I prob buy too many for the wear they get.

Light tinted sunscreens and BB cream type products are a weakness…..

Outerwear! I can never resist a coat, and my favorite retailer, Cos, always has a fab selection. And lipstick.

Tops, shoes and purses. I have successfully put a halt to the tops, but purses and shoes can still sneak past my defenses.

Almost anything in ombré, deep teal or a large scale dark floral. They make me go weak at the knees.

Olive and burnt orange shirts.
Mascara, I can't resist trying new ones. I bought two during my trip and brought four unopened ones with me.
Lipstick—I am always looking for the perfect MLBB colour. During my trip, I bought three MAC lipsticks, which are basically the same colour.

(For the latter two, I have to be really careful to make sure the item is ALSO the right cut and colorway for me, rather than just being seduced by the nature of the pattern. It's difficult to remain on the straight & narrow path!)

Suz, yes, it’s a hole, a black hole in my case!
Knitwear, mostly sweaters. By far, it’s the easiest thing to fit. I have them in an embarrassingly large number.

Cashmere sweaters, jeans, jackets, long cardigans, blazers, vertical stripes, sheath dresses, sweater dresses, athletic gear….tops in my color palette…

A better question for me might be what isn’t my Achilles heel!

One answer…Breton stripes.

Helena, I can relate to the lip color products, also.

Like Staysfit, I wonder if it would be easiest to say what's not my Achilles heel in fashion, and there my answer would also be: Breton tees! haha!

Graphic tees and tank tops, earrings with some unusual details/shapes.
I'm getting better with graphics - or they are disappearing from stores - lol. The ones that still available could be wrong fabric ( mix with polyester ).

Sandals! I arrived to own 16 pairs pre YLF. And I do not live in a hot climate but in a 4-seasons climate. Now I have become more disciplined - only 4 pairs at the moment.
Jeans are multi-seasonal therefore I think you can consider yourself entitled to have many.

Outerwear. Even worse, if it's been years since I've worn a certain coat but then I wear it and get a compliment, I keep it.

Jackets. I never seem to have “ the one that goes with everything “ so have different colors, weights, lengths. But they take up a lot of space.

Simple knit SS and LS T tops for layering. Neutrals and colors. Sometimes 2 sizes, better for layering vs wearing alone.
