I think when a trend resonates you don’t want it to end and when it doesn’t you can’t wait. It is interesting the trends that make it to NZ and those that don’t - and the timing too. Some never arrive in retail here, others late, others arrive early. Suspect it is the same for Florida compared to Seattle etc….

I love the sweater vest trend. I also found a pair of wide-leg pants on the NAS which I’m looking forward to wearing. Last but not least, I want to try the layered necklace trend. I suspect a few more trends will have my interest after a few months.

StagFash - I’ll need more than 2 sleeves - they’ll be falling in the soup or knocking over the salad dressing!

Looking forward to trends posts

I want to continue focusing on modern classics/minimalism. I've had a bad habit of buying too much of trends I've liked and then getting sick of them.

I do know one thing- no overly puffy sleeves. I tried a couple and hated them on me. Subtle lantern fine, a foot of extra fabric on each side- no!

I only follow trends that really resonate with my style and a few of this year’s 90s throwbacks are definitely in that category. So many things I enjoyed in high school are trendy right now. Oversized buttoned shirt, open over a ribbed high neck tank, has been my uniform this summer. Baggy straight leg jeans appeal too. Knit sweater vests. Lug soles. I’m sticking to the more grown up and timeless versions of trends but I’m much more interested in shopping this year than many years when the trends don’t fit my style nearly as well.
