What is your one fashion *don't* that you do?

What is your one fashion don't that you do?

I have a rhinestone message tee that I know is a don't but I don't care lol! I will continue to wear it with tongue in cheek until it falls apart.

Oh Louise, I was totally toying with the idea of doing that because I think it looks so cute with oxfords. Don't know if I can pull it off yet but I can blame you for inspiring me to try.

We have had discussions like this before, but I can't remember my response. Maybe I don't commit any sins anymore?

If you are sin free, I congratulate you!! I probably never will be but I'm soooo much closer. And the funny thing about *don'ts* is years later they can often become *do's*!

Er...I do wear gear when I'm out and about. But I have a rule about that. If I'm in the nearby community that's more farm/rural oriented, then I wear gear (ponytail, farm boots, ratty jeans, barn jacket). The places I'd likely to go are the grocery store, feed store, or hardware store.

If I'm heading farther afield, then I pull myself together and actually wear an outfit. And back when I lived in the city I never wore gear. Actually, I haven't owned tennis/running shoes in 10 years or more.

Covering up my ears and eyes you naughty but cute gear wearing out in public people! I am going to stay VERY strict on this one. Otherwise - where will it end? Its a slippery slope.

Cuffed jeans I can live with even though I desperately want to pull them down when Louise posts those outfits

Mo's tongue and cheek Tee I can live with too.

But the gear ladies, causes major apoplexies. I'm feeling fragile. I fear I need to lie down.

Beth, I have to agree with you that in places where there aren't sidewalks to be had or even paved roads, gear seems less out of place than heels! It's hard when your environment dressses you down, so to speak.

dearest Angie... it is only in the case of dire emergency that my body leaves the house in gear. Getting Maya's jacket in the mail was pretty dire.... what will she wear while awaiting me to get all dolled up for the UPS clerk?

@Beth, now we're talking. (You don't need to wear heels to the feed store - of course not!) Just got to keep the gear wearing thing under control in order to prevent my imminent heart failure. My health lies in the gear wearing habits of others.

So I just cuffed up my skinny jeans with oxfords and will be heading to Nordies that way. Sorry I think it looks cute though. But what do I know? I thought the awful black model-drowning Modcloth sweater was cute too.

I don't consider corduroy a sin so I'm not going to count that.

I run to the store in my rattiest clothes. In my defense, I usually look as good than most people there.

I'm sure there are many many more. Lack of PPL comes to mind.

Ultra low rise jeans. The reasons are complicated, but, in a nutshell, they make my butt look perky, and for me that turns all their minor cons into the lesser of two evils. I'm sure I still wear some things that aren't flattering, but I'm not emotionally attached to them, and I'm always looking to replace or improve them. So basically I'm saying that I'll break a "rule of flattery" only by accident, or if I feel like breaking it is the lesser of two evils, as far as how it flatters my body. Then again I'm not a person who invests a lot of emotion in specific objects. If my clothes don't serve and support me the way I expect them too they get no mercy from m

Moccachino I am guilty of wearing low jeans as well and ones with designs on the pockets. Some of that is because working in a logo tee as the uniform, one tends to branch out style wise in the jean portion of the uniform I also like that low rise don't give you 'long butt' lol!

I love these threads because Angie gets the funniest apoplexy over them! ;-D

I was out shopping today (and then some!) and while in line at the Gap I noticed a couple of women in the gear look: pink fleece jackets, faded jeans, metallic flats, and well, an ugly Mom purse. The jeans and flats were cute but then it was like they forgot to finish the outfit. That's probably the biggest thing I have learned from this site, that having a cute outfit does you no good if you have a tired coat over it.

As for my own fashion "don't", I would say that I tend to keep wearing favorite silhouettes over fashionable ones for longer than I should. And I am overly fond of long necklaces when my boobage would suggest I go for something shorter. And I love my Privo sneakers for long days of walking around the city on weekends.

Me too, Taylor, but I don't consider that a sin. If I don't have time to sew a snap in between buttons of a button-down shirt, I'll use a safety pin and carefully position it so that no one will ever see it - and so it won't pop open and stab me in the chest either!

I sometimes tuck woven tops into pencil skirts even though it is inadvisable for my bust size and short waist. (And like Kristen, I wear longer-than-advised necklaces sometimes, too.)

I've also been guilty of wearing jeans that WERE PPL, but are now slightly above PPL due to weight gain.
