Thanks for your comments everyone! I will wait a bit longer to do the reveal, to give others a chance to weight in,
Thanks Inge. The dress does unbutton all the way; I wear it as a gilet about half the time. I like the dark contrast offered by the blouse. The dress is a tiny black-and-white houndstooth print that is a false plain from any distance, so I thought the pattern mixing would be subtle enough.
Aproprio, maybe a bit of Peggy as it is a very traditional 60s-ish type of look isn't it? When Mad Men style was a big deal, I felt I had a bit of an instinctive feel for it, as in, what I remembered the sophisticated adults wearing when I was a kid. (You'll never see me in a beehive though.)
Style Fan, what a lovely thing to say about my hair! I am so past due for a cut, that it is well past my shoulders and taking on a new shape for that reason. Your comment is so welcome, because I often feel it makes me look frazzled. Yours, on the other hand, is always just right. (I should beware of wearing a red shirt around you if you are a Trekkie.)
Lynn, thank you! I love the relaxed androgynous simplicity of the Birks. Just not what I was primarily going for with this outfit.
