What Goes with Acorn Bottoms - YouLookFab Forum

It's been forever since I've posted here so I hope you'll still be willing to give me some input. I bought these "acorn" chinos recently and plan to wear them for fall/winter (mild here). They go with the darker bits in my natural hair so I feel like that will add some book ending but now I'm wondering aside from white or off white and neutral tops, what colors would pair with them well?

I've added a few finds from my closet that seem to be good options.I think the deep green works. Could burgundy work on top too? What about navy? Maybe heather gray?

I don't wear black on top any more.

Nice to see you here again, Texstyle! Those are great pants.

This is such a versatile color and I'd say almost anything goes with it. So yes to white/cream, various tones of brown, navy, all the blues, pink, red, burgundy, etc. I am hard pressed to find a bad color pairing. Lately I have enjoyed pairing lilac and purple with various shades of brown.

All kinds of colours! I think teal/green is a no brainer. I wear burgundy/red with my favourite brown pants (finds) all the time! Cream, other shades of brown, light blue, lilac, plum, etc. Steel blue/blue jean blue and brown is a favourite of mine (see finds for a recent outfit combination).

I would go for blues and greens - or heather grey. I am more adventurous with colour mixing than I used to be now and would even consider blush pink or mustard too...Burgundy might work - I think it would depend on the undertone.

Oh, gosh -- I am dying to find a pair of pants in that colour! I would wear them with pretty much anything -- black, white, cream, burgundy, blush, teal, grey, red, plum...

Those are like a classic hardwood floor to me -- I don't think much would actually clash with them, depending how it is styled to pull it together!

This is my favorite brown! I put both navy and medium/dusty blue with it. Also mustard, deep green (forest/spruce), and brick red. To me it fights with primary colors/jewel tones, but it's great with slightly softer/warmer versions of those colors. Just keep a balance with overall lightness/darkness.

I knew I'd get some good input - thanks to you all for some great suggestions. I don't know why this "color" in pants was feeling harder to me but I think it's because typically I've worn blue jeans or white jeans almost exclusively for the past several years.

I have pants a similar color. I have worn them with black, navy, cream, shades of red, blush, and bright yellow. I also have many print tops that seem to work, plaids, florals, and geometric. They are versatile; just try them with your tops.

I have trousers like this too, & like to wear them with deep purple, forest green or teal. Of course they also look great with the classics, like cream & burgundy, but I consider them a pseudo neutral - you could even try them with yellow or navy blue.

The only colours I would perhaps avoid would be orange (too similar) & grey (might wash out the colour), but try it anyway. You might not agree!

How about grey and white:

Personally, I would wear navy, burgundy, red, orange and shocking pink. Blush pink and light blue too.

What lovely pants. I have been idly looking for something similar or maybe more of a tan colour. It would be good with several types of animal print, definitely greens including olive.

Oh, wow, I love that colour! It's kind of a cognac hue. Goes brilliantly with navy, white, grey, and I'd also wear with burgundy, reds, maybe pinks. Those are going to look amazing on you!

Great pants. I would imagine like others have said that it would go with just about any other colour (except perhaps another brown close in shade). They are pretty much like denim in their versatility with different colours but I imagine you could dress them up more than you could denim.

I own those pants also, and have worn them with denim/chambray shirts, deep red sweaters, forest green, any rich color that matches the saturation of the pants. I like charcoal or ivory with them too.
