I'm with Amy on this one - I just don't love skinny pants on me that much. I have one pair of GAP Really Skinny pants that I like during the winter once in awhile, but I just haven't managed feeling fab in skinny jeans even though I have a couple of pairs. I know this sounds odd, given that they're so mainstream these days, but I don't feel all that comfortable in them, and I haven't really found anything that looks all that great on my frame (other than the GAP Really Skinnies, and even those are just a 'once in awhile' thing).
Having said that - there are lots of YLF'ers who look amazing in skinny pants and skinny jeans. It's not that I don't like the look, it's more that the look doesn't like me. That, and the fact that I just don't feel very comfortable. I am enjoying my flares, bootcuts and straight cuts a lot more. I feel about as comfortable in skinny jeans and pants as I would in a very short mini skirt.
I think I've decided to pretty much just give it up and stop trying to find something that looks "ok" and feels ok. I have lots of other pants to choose from, and I kind of like 'swishing' into a room in some floaty pants.
Meanwhile, just as I'm writing this, I'm realizing something - I have a somewhat plump, hour-glass-ish shape, and anything that calls attention to this makes me feel a wee bit uncomfortable. Somehow, skinny pants call attention in a way that makes me feel awkward.
Do you know what I mean? Something's just a wee bit too short, or a wee bit too revealing in a way that doesn't feel comfortable? That's how I feel about super-skinny pants and jeans. Even trying to sort of cover-up with long tunic-like blouses and so on doesn't help that much.
