I tried this combo of a faux suede skirt from Olsen Europe and a hi-low silk crossover blouse. I think it looked OK, but maybe the top is a bit too long. Let me know what you think.
Sorry #3 is so out of focus but you get the idea of the shape.

The bag is my Rebecca Minkoff ebay steal, and the boots are from Long Tall Sally (and they were on the wrong feet in this photo! That's when you know you sized up a bit too much on your footwear).

Is that your skirt doing a little static cling in front in #2?

Personally, I'd have finished off your outfit with very sheer black hose to match up with your grey boots - less of a choppy colour blocked effect that way. But the burgundy hose looks nice too.

I think the top is a bit wide at the waist. Could you wear the skirt with a tucked in button down? Not sure if it's too drapey for that look. Or maybe just t-shirt- and cardigan?

The only thing I noticed was a bit of static cling, I think. You look great. I can't believe your boots are on the wrong feet--LOL!

Argh! Static cling! I actually had a friend run a wire hanger over my lower half at work to keep it at bay. (A female friend...It is hard to do that oneself and I didn't have any anti static spray handy). It actually worked.

Thanks for the feedback. I will try the cardi and the sheer hose.

I belong to a "panty hose of the month club" and they send me coloured tights once in a while so I do try to find an excuse to wear them.

I love the colors and proportions. I used to do the A-B-A-B color scheme as you have with tights, but got some mixed comments... Just saying, because I personally don't mind it at all!

Nicole, I meant to comment yesterday, but got distracted and didn't get back. Your outfit looks lovely. The tights were a bit distracting to me, and I couldn't figure out why I wasn't 100% loving them at first. I wear colored tights all the time, and burgundy or plum are favorite fallbacks for me. So what was it? I realized that when I wear a dark skirt and boot with a colorful tight, I usually layer my tights to keep the color, but knock back the contrast. Since you are in the pantyhose of the month club (too cute! too funny!) and have the colored tights and want to wear them, I thought I would share that with you. I have a bunch of double fishnets, lace, stripes, dots, etc., patterned tights that are very open. More like crochet than a typical tight. I rarely wear them alone, but I wear them all the time over the top of my colored tights. It is a great way to make colored tights more adaptable!
