ETA pic of sneaker for Angie. What do you think?

One of the looks I am trying to achieve this winter is a much more casual look.
Your help would be appreciated - how can I improve on this? How do you see this on me? I'm not used to wearing anything this casual out of the house:)

I think it is good! I would play with the semi-tuck a little, but those pants look nice, I like the shoes, and the colour of the sweater is lovely!

What a beautiful light turquoise color for you Caro. And I love the colour of the sweater paired with the darker grey of the pants. As Ceit suggested, I would just play with the semi tuck a bit (maybe a tiny bit less fabric tucked in?) and then I think you've nailed it.

I love you in all shades of blue and turquoise being my fave colour - especially love that. This looks like a great run around outfit. The shoes are also great.

Nice casual look. I'd be inclined to wear a lighter colored lower layer beneath the sweater to echo the light shoes, but my hair is much darker than yours Is it possible to wear the pants any lower? That would improve the semi-tuck look as well, leaving less vertical draping height.

Yes Aida I will give that a go - the pants are x2 sizes larger than I normally wear so they fall down without a belt:)

I like the colors and ideas you are working with here. I have found that shorter rise pants are easier to semi tuck long tops (such as this one shown) into, whereas my almost too short for pants tops semi tuck well into my higher rise bottoms. To lower the visual line of a higher rise pant when I semi tuck I also like to match the belt to the color of the top. Im excited to see more casual dressing experiments!

Love the colors and I think this looks great, although I would try Aida's suggestion for lowering the waist a bit too.

I like the pants, layering top and sweater. I like the silhouettes, colors and styling of all three. And I love the asymmetrical semi tuck! (Brilliant.) Where I stop is the footwear. Granted, I have a poison eye towards sneaks, even fashionable ones. I would prefer this if you had a dark green or taupe or khaki leather shoe. Or brown would work too.

Sorry, and as I write this I am wearing sneaks because I just finished walking my niece and three dogs. But I don't feel stylish! Earlier I had on leather booties and felt so much more fab!

More and more, I feel footwear is the one item that can make or break an outfit, more than any other piece.

Okay I'm uploading a photo of the sneakers. I'm happy to toss them if you think they are not right Angie - they are really an experiment.

I hear you CL & thank you for your honesty, it is always appreciated. I do have lots of boots that look good with these pants - I was trying out a much more casual look than I'm used to but I think I would feel more "stylish" in a boot rather than these.

Close up I think they are cute! Much cuter than I was expecting. But from a distance they look like athletic shoes, sorry.

Let's see what the others think, I am quite biased towards sneakers. We all have our "poison eye" issue...
