What kind of outfit posts do you want most / like best?

So sweet Angie has requested I post outfit pics, even though, since I'm mostly at home these days, I would not really call my outfits inspirational. Would you still want to see them?

In general what kind of outfit posts do you like best?

I like seeing outfits in which people are playing around with different combinations, or in which they have a high happiness factor, or in which they are questioning some aspect of the outfit, or in which they are super comfortable, or ...

When I don't have much time I just go thru the posted photos. I love seeing all of them too. Am working on my photo taking project,, trying to get the mirror thing going. when I do will be able to post more too.

I like them all, too.

For me, it's useful to see people's casual style because that's how I have to live a lot of the time.

I like seeing business style because I get to indulge my fantasy life. But I can find inspiration from the colours or shapes, too.

I like to see them when the person's style is quite different from my own, because it broadens my mind.

I like to see them when their style is similar because I get usable ideas.

I like to see photos of people dressed in thrift store items because it shows me what can be done with only a bit of cash.

I like to see photos of high end fashion because it is beautiful and inspirational, even if I can't afford it.

I like to see outfits that had a high happiness factor, because it's just plain fun.

I like to see outfits that bothered a person because it's a great learning experience for all.

I like K/R because we all learn from these as well, and get to know one another's style more intimately.

IK- I'd love to see what you wear for casual days at home! I am a stay-at-home-grandma who spends most days at home. I am working on not looking frumpy just because I'm not going anywhere.

I agree with all of the above. I especially like seeing outfits that are casual but creative. But I just plain like seeing what others here are doing stylewise.

I think my favorite type of outfit WIW is the "signature outfit". I am fascinated by the thought process into how that outfit encapsulates their style persona or fits with their rubric. Similarly, I like the "best of" outfit collections like the ones that people do at the end of the year with their favorite outfits. It really gives me a window into someone's style.

That said, I still like everyday outfit WIWs too and would love to see more of your casual kickin' around WIW's! I feel like I spent a lot of time trying to sort out my work style but now am trying to work on my casual MOTG style on its own, rather than just dressing down work wear.

What Suz said. I get lots of inspiration which means more fun with fashion. I can see what looks best on body types similar to mine and even get ideas for women I buy gifts for who are a very different body type from mine. I've learned to appreciate and admire styles different from my own. It's all good.

I like a wide range. For instance, many members dress up for work each day, which is more than I would need to but I still love to see different looks and can pull some style inspiration from them even though I may not need to be quite as "dressed up". I also love to see MOTG or casual outfits because that's more of how I dress most of the time, so it's fun to see how others are doing it. And I love a good fashion forward outfit with all of the trends and things I would never/could never do because then I just get to dress vicariously! So in summation, I love it all!

I like any and all kinds of outfit posts. Both with one outfit and with a set, like Sveta and Goldenpig do.

I try to put questions in my outfit posts. These are genuine questions not just filler make up questions. That way, people who can't think of anything more than "nice set" have something else to respond to.

My world is very, very casual. I know that these are the HARDEST kinds of outfits to post on YLF, because, as you say, I don't feel they are very inspirational. I'm not whining, just saying so because it does limit me from posting more WIWs. But then again, maybe if I posted more every day outfits, they would improve from the posting and feedback.

Denise, I really value the casual outfits. I know how hard they are to do in any way that doesn't feel boring. But I think maybe they just seem boring to us, the wearer.

Your casual needs, Dana's, Malina's, Diane's, and mine (just to take a few examples) are all similar -- and yet different, due to our different climate and activities. It's always helpful to get a range.

I enjoy them all and try to click on each and every WIW for inspiration, even if I don't always have the time to post a comment. I wholeheartedly agree with what Suz so eloquently said above. I also enjoy all our over-50 posters. So inspiring!

What everybody said. Especially remixing for updating, and not just all new items, with the explanation of why it works. Hi- low cost combos and not like Gap pants with super shoes or something. Mixing textures and multiple neutrals. I ca more diectly use workwear outfit photos that are less casual, but I still get lots of inspiration from all the ideas on color, proportion, mixing classic and trendy.

I absolutely love everything I read and see here too!
ESPECIALLY those with challenges and limitations such as financial, special occasions and less than perfect body issues- which covers pretty much everyone here of course.
So no-one should feel that their WIWs aren't interesting enough to post!

Guys. I am wearing cut off shorts and a tank top every day. Today I sported a lovely Kiki's Delivery Service apron (pic similar but not identical) over this ensemble, along with elbow-length purple rubber gloves, so I could scrub toilets and sinks with foaming bleach.

I agree - I like seeing everyone in everything. Picture quality really helps more than the type of outfit itself. I love seeing a whole week or montages and side by sides, although I'm guilty of never doing them.

I love the week at a time things, too. And I plan to do them more regularly. I haven't managed it (instead I did a whole season's worth at once, LOL) but I learn a lot from those week at a time offerings. Or selected offerings from a season with reasons for wearing it, occasion, etc.

So, okay, if you don't want to show us your toilet cleaning clothes, that is fine, but if you change later on?

IK: I'm realizing I need to step up the style factor on the apron I'm wearing this very minute. All white (but dirty) and totally plain. And I would ooh and ahh over your biceps and try to convince myself that I wanted to do the hard work you did to look so great. We haven't seen enough of your WIW posts. Any new footwear?

And for everyone, I love to see it all, even the repeats. Maybe I didn't catch it the first, second, or third time, or maybe it didn't stick, or maybe I notice a particular aspect.

Dana, I truly like to see 'everything'. I find I drawer inspiration from so many styles of outfits and often where I might not expect to. The more I see, broadens my appreciation and understanding of varying styles.

I do know what you mean. I only post casual weekday outfits - even if I am meeting someone my clothes are casual. I wish I got around to taking a photo of more of my weekend looks, when I often wear skirts or dresses, but I don't. I do sometimes wonder what the point is to post variations on a simple theme but the feedback is really helpful and also sometimes boosts my confidence in things I think only I could appreciate. Bring on the apron!

See, even your apron is fun and stylish... I love Kiki's Delivery Service. =) Your personal style and fashion is reflected through everything you choose to wear, so sharing your outfits even if you're a SAHM and mostly super-casual is still expressing yourself! (But I know what you mean. I haven't posted either and one reason for that is the same as yours!)

I also like a variety of outfits, although for the most part my lifestyle is super casual, I rather like dressing up a bit as long as my clothing doesnt prohibit me for doing what I need to do (bending, lifting, occasional casual bike ride, running a few hundred meters).

So, yes please post your super casual to special occasion. Your thrift store find to designer items. Love it all... And Ill probably only get to enjoy those designer items on screen so they are all the more fun to see!

The good photo quality is really nice (says the girl who has been taking phone pic in poor light in the mirror all week... must take time to set up the camera properly!) and while I like the montages I dont mind panning through a handful of photos esp. with the new phone browser Greg made recently.

I too really like to see everything. I especially draw inspiration from the MOTG, super casual looks - because that's the life I lead. It's one of my favorite things about this site, actually - inspiration for my type of life - real people in real clothes that they live normal life in.
