- Coconut oil -- seriously, I've been using it for a body moisturizer, and I swear my keratosis pilaris is better for it. Not oily once it's on the skin, and does a great job of eliminating skin flakiness.
- Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer -- I like the sheer coverage better than foundations.
- Avalon Organics Vitamin C SPF daily moisturizer
- Andalou Naturals night repair cream
- Chanel Rouge Double Intensite Ultra Wear lip stain (recommended by someone here on YLF, lasts really well!)
- MAC False Eyelashes mascara
- Aveeno lip balm
- Dove facial soap (just the plain old white bar soap)

Several things I swear by:

Bobbi Brown eye shadow in Shell. I am in a less-is-more makeup phase (which may last forever) and this tone is just a perfect brightener for the lid.
Nars Orgasm blush: Gold standard. Wear daily on the apples of my cheeks.
Stila Perfect and Correct Foundation: A recent find thanks to a smart Sephora SA, and I love it.

I've recently invested in good overnight skin treatments and while my skin has always been good, it's made a noticeable difference to me. I have to make room in my budget for these going forward.

Peter Thomas Roth Un-Wrinkle Eye Cream: Spendy but worth it. Incredibly moisturizing and makes a visible difference immediately.
Murad Resurgence Age-Balancing Night Cream: Ultra moisturizing and renewing.

I'm constantly on the search for a better body moisturizer so I am going to try coconut oil next. Thanks Janet.

Neutrogena Extra Gentle Cleanser: this is so mild and moisturizing for my dry skin.
Jojoba oil- I slather this on my face and all over my body. Great for dry skin.

Shiseido tinted sunscreen with SPF 43. I wear this daily year round instead of foundation to protect my fair skin. It evens out skin tones a bit without looking heavy.

I'm pretty fickle when it comes to other makeup, and like to have a frequent change of pace, but these skincare items are constants.

Korres anti-aging primer (it works for all my foundations whether they are oil/water/silicone based)

KohGenDo MM foundation in 001, the only one ever pale enough for me...although over the winter I've been using BB Skin in Alabaster because I needed to add some warmth. You read that right...the absolute palest of any of the readily available major lines is what I use to warm up my paleness.

LM gel eyeliners

Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush in Fresh Pink

CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser and Moisturizing Cream

Neutragena Ultra Sheer Liquid sunscreen SPF 70 (not the first Ultra Sheer, the new liquid, even lighter feeling)

These are constants...the rest, like Parsley, I like to play around!

Carter and ABC....I'm always on the lookout for good face moisturizers. I turn 50 this year, so wrinkle reduction (even if it's superficial) is so welcome!

Janet....is the coconut oil you use solid? I am putting that LM tinted moisturizer on my lust to try! And, thanks for reminding me about Dove soap....been using this since a wee one!

Viva....I just purchased the Bobbi Brown cream shadow except in cement. Love it....it just may become HG status. Would you mind sharing your skin treatment brand?

Linda....love what you said about being "open to experimentation". Leaves room for a little fun, huh?

Alicat....great list of your HG's. Did you use the DW regular foundation before the light formula? Just curious of the differences.

Parsley...it's fun to try new things, but in love that we can count on our constants! Jojoba oil? How does that compare, I wonder, to coconut oil?

I forgot to mention, too, that my beloved Dr. pepper lip gloss has been in my constant since 1977 when it was a big tube on a rope to wear around your neck.

Most of my skin care items change periodically, when I realize they are not performing miracles after all. I still have cellulite and my face doesn't look 10 years younger than before either

One HG is Suntegrity Mineral Sunscreen for Body and also the plain or the tinted version for Face. I use those daily.
At the moment one of my many skin care items is Creme de la Mer (again) and I really like it, so it may become a HG.

Sisley Hair and Scalp Treatment. Really helped to repair my hair after a disastrous hair extension experiment. Very expensive, but effective.

I do have some HG make-up:
- Lancome Hypnose mascara .
I have tried other mascaras over the years, but always end up tossing the
new one and getting Hypnose again. The regular one, not waterproof.

- Urban Decay gel eye pencils

- Sisley Paris blush in L'Orchidee Rose. Lovely and goes a long way.

- Benefit High Beam highlighter

- Dior Addict Lipsticks

- Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Pink Blossom.

Meka....would love to hear how you use red palm oil for cleansing. Like I mentioned, I love the DHC cleansing oil....but it's a hassle that it has to be ordered and is spendy. Thanks, too, for the recommendations for clear skin....I'm going to share that with my daughter.

Peri... I love the CeraVe body moisturizer..haven't tried the face ones yet. I giggled reading about finding the right shade for your pale skin. I bet you have beautiful skin with minimal sun damage!

I think jojoba oil and coconut oil are fairly similar. I've read that Jojoba oil most closely resembles your skin's natural oils, and like coconut oil it's also supposed to be good for hair, but I haven't tried that.

I don't have an HG foundation, blush, or mascara. I currently use Maybelline Dream Bouncy blush in a coral color and I'm trying out Bobbi Brown smokey eye mascara.

NDMom, yes, the coconut oil is solid -- it liquifies when I dig a little out and rub it between my palms.

My dogs like to lick it off my legs after I moisturize. So I guess they get the benefits too! LOL

NDMom, I picked the red palm oil up from Whole Foods for about $8 so it is definitely cheaper than the DHC, which I'd previously considered. I take a nickel sized amount and rub it in my hands to liquify it a bit and proceed the way you would using the DHC. I previously tried grapeseed oil for OCM but it didn't get all of my makeup off like the red palm oil does.

The only con of using red palm oil is that it leaves an orange tint to the skin. It isn't a problem for me because I have orange undertones. But toner usually takes it off.

I highly recommend the Ain't Misbehavin! My daughter uses it as well for acne prone skin. She also likes the salycilic wash by DDF but that's more expensive.

I started a similar post a while ago on the off topic thread. I had one for hair products too because I finally found a combination that seems to be working well for me (the Living Proof line).

Since this is a list I keep in Evernote, I am pasting the whole thing:

From DHC:
* white bar body soap (non drying and great lather)
* olive oil moisturizer or, Olivella from Amazon
* face soap- olive oil or pure
* olive oil swabs (love these handy little babies!)
* eyeliner
* velvet skin coat (primer)
* BB Cream (I use this in place of foundation)
* makeup remover cloths (nice and gentle)

* Bliss lid and lash wash- gel eye makeup remover (i've been using this for over 10 years)

* Bobbi Brown under eye concealer

* Fresh lip balm- rose or plum

* Sugar scrub- Hemp

I will experiment with blusher (I use both powder and cream) and mascara- I probably have 4 or 5 different mascaras going at one time- but the above are regulars.

My constants are:

Ponds each night to wash my face and remove mascara
Vaseline with cocoa butter on my lips when I sleep
LUSH "Angels on Bare Skin" face scrub (oatmeal and lavender, yummy!) in the shower each morning, though in winter I'll go every other day with Ponds instead
Olay original face lotion with SPF15-30 each morning (also goes on my neck, chest and forearms daily)
Nivea Crème for hands and dry winter skin (I keep a little tin in my purse)

Mascara/lip color and hair products change all the time

AM
MD Forte III Cleanser (20% Glycolic Acid)
LaRoche Posay Active C and Active C Eyes
If I'm indoors most of the day I use CereVe AM moisturizer..spf 30.
If I'll be outside or running errands, I use Atopalm Moisturizer and Elta MD spf 45.
PM
Nivea Visage Eye Makeup Remover. For some reason, this was discontinued in the states a few years ago. I stock up when I'm in Canada. It's the only eye makeup remover that doesn't make my eyes red and watery the next day.
CereVe Hydrating Cleanser used with Clarisonic
Skin Medica TNS Ceremide Treatment Cream
Every other day..Tazorac- a Retin A prescription cream
I have super dry skin, so for moisturizing at night, I mix Atopalm Moisturizer with Waleda Skin Food (Target or Whole Foods).

For makeup, I just found out on one of the threads here that Nordstrom has a Beauty Stylist who goes across the different makeup lines to find what works best. I going to set up an appointment in the next week or two. Will report back.

This is a great post. I have been reading the other Fabbers' responses and thinking about checking some things out.

My standards are Nexxus Therappe shampoo and Humectress conditioner. I have been using these for years. I have tried others but always go back to this combo.

I use Cetaphil to wash my face. I have very sensitive skin and this works the best. A dermatologist recommend it and I am very glad she did. Eye cream and face cream are from Neo Strata. Do they work? Who knows? They don't irritate my skin. I am looking for a sun block. I tried Avene recently.

Mascara is Lancôme Hypnose. I have used this for years and love it.

Eye shadow is Mac. I have tried others but always go back.

I don't wear blush often but when I do it is Nars Deep Throat.

Eye liner is Laura Mercier.

Once a year at the most I wear Cooling Tint (very subtle) by Smashbox. It is like a tinted moisturizer only better. Sadly they stopped making it.

Lip Gloss is by Mac.

Primer is by Smashbox.

That's it for now. I love make up but rarely wear it except when I go to a special event.

Thanks for the coconut oil tip Janet! I have a lovely patch on my scalp, and I think I'm going to try a bit of coconut oil on it.

I swear by my Clarisonic. That has been one of few things that I can tell makes a difference with my acne.

I also love my Body Shop Tea Tree oil creamy face cleanser and toner.

For foundation, it's Bare Minerals all the way.

Another clarisonic lover here.
NDMom -- the skincare I was referring to were the two items that followed -- the Peter Thomas Roth eye cream ($100) and the Murad night cream ($75). For me, those were investments, but I love the results - so worth it.

I would adore to hear some favorites for bronzer powders! I've found that a frame of bronzer around my face really can make a difference in a good way (not a LOT of bronzer, but a light touch) but I'm not crazy about the pigmentation or the control I have with what I'm using.

I still stand by Maybelline Great Lash for mascara, though I'm flirting too with L'Oreal Voluminous.

Baby Lips 25 (Pink Punch) on my lips ..... hmm, maybe I'm a Maybelline gal!

Tinted moisturizer works great for evening out skin tone, I use one from NuSkin mainly b/c I've been buying their vitamins forever.

I just recently discovered the sugar scrubs and Rub it In moisturizing shower cream at Bath & Body Works and love that my skin didn't get alligator-like over this long winter.

WEN for my hair -- I like that it means just ONE product and it's restored the shine to my hair, in back of the crown particularly. My hair had been feeling very dry and almost sticky in that area, weird, I know.

What a great thread -- I admit I am a cosmetics junkie!

Oh, I forgot one, truly great brushes make a huge difference. These are amazing quality and really tend to be lower priced than most department store makeup lines brushes. I just bought some eyeshadow brushes for about $20 that are so much better than the MAC ones I spent more on.
