Came to check out the tops Angie recommended, and ended up finding lots to take home. Super big sale, 50% off clearance! Counting on you to tell me if these are keepers!

1-4 This is a longer shell with some pleating detail at the left hip and ribbon tie closure in the back. I'm thinking this will be a great layering top and can wear with so many things, dress it up or dress it down.

6-7 This is hard to see in the pictures, but there is rushing on the sides and even though it is form fitting the rushing makes it more forgiving. I like the length and feel this would be a great dress it up or dress it down piece too. Thinking ahead for a cruise next spring!

8-9 This is the top ended up coming back for. Just a basic T-cowl neck sleeveless top, but I love the fit and now have this is red, black and white as well. The sales girl talked me into these, and I can't take them back, but I loved the dressier fabric on this and the fact that these will pack well.

9 I wasn't sure about the length of these, but the sales girl insisted they are perfect as is, I'm not so sure, I'm showing the waist and the pleating detail here.

10-12 Love the print in this wrap-style sheath dress, and can think of so many ways I can wear this (dressing it up and down again)

I think they're all keepers! The only one giving me pause is #9, but that's just because I'm so new to the whole ankle length concept that I don't know how to tell whether it works or not.

I like everything quite a lot and the fit looks great. Something about the current length of the watercolor shell makes me think that it would look better with pants, however. And the cropped, pleated pants are not my style, but I am sure that the ladies here can come up with great styling ideas. The two dresses are awesome and very versatile.

Thanks, YG. I know they are not the most popular thing on the forum, but I thought they would be great for travel, I can't take them back so I'm stuck with them. But thanks for your reassurances on everything else.

Laura- Good point about the length of the tops being more suited to pants, thats what I wear most, but was hoping to beable to wear with skirts too. Thanks for your input!

Wow you look fabulous! I absolutely love the watercolor shell, and the dress in 10-12 (and all of the ways you've styled these two pieces). I'm not sure how I feel about the dress in 6-7 (but it could just be the angle), or the pleating in the pants in 9...I think I might like them better with a longer top.

Great haul, Carole! Love all the tops, wiith one styling exception for #2: I don't care for that top when you belt it and I think it's the back view that's putting me off. Looks great unbelted in the various other ways you've styled it.

I especially like it worn with the white jeans.

The pants are cute; I like the length on you.

The printed sheath dress is fabulous, and I LOVE those yellow peep toe shoes (heels? can't tell) you're wearing with it in one shot.

The only item that doesn't rise to the level of the others, at least for me, is the black dress. It's not bad, I just think you could probably find a better LBD.

bran-Thanks, its really hard to see anything in 6-7, but I love this dress. the pants in 9 (same pants as in 8), I have my top up so I could show you waist. I knew these would be a little different, I was thinking I could hem them up to the PPL if necessary I just love the fabric and how they will travel nicely and dress things up if need be.

You found some gorgeous pieces and they all work well on you!! I'm not completely sure about 9, but I'd like to see how they end up if you decide to hem them. I like the pleating and the fabric.

If you love the dress and feel comfortable in it, then it's definitely a keeper I liked it in 6, but it might just be the angle of 7 that's throwing me off a bit.

Not so sure about the pants...add a heeled ankle strap and your boyfriend jacket and I think the will be keepers:) Waiting for Angie's final take on those:)

Carole, if you love it, then buy it, because you know you'll wear it.

You and I both have quite broad shoulders, and my shoulders, which often make fitting shirts & jackets difficult for me, have also made me look at shoulder lines with a (perhaps overly) critical eye. At least in the photos, the black dress appears to have a narrower V than the sheath, and the shoulders of the dress sat in closer toward your neck than the other dress. Therefore to my eyes, it threw off the proportions of the rest:a little shoulder heavy, in other words, leading to my lack of effusive love for that particular item.

But as I said in my original post, I did like it, just not as much as the rest. Now, if you can only give me those great toned arms of yours! Please!!

That last dress is STUNNING on you. I am sure you're right that you can style it numerous ways.

And I like everything else, too. Tops are all lovely.

I'm not sure about the pants. It might depend on the shoe you wear. But it sounds as if you love them, which means you'll wear them with confidence!

Great fashion show I love the watercolor shell, and also prefer it unbelted; it's so very pretty and elegant looking! The black dress looks like a good basic LBD. The cowl neck top is very cute. That last printed dress is gorgeous, my favorite of the bunch (followed quickly by the pretty watercolor shell)! The pants I'm not too sure about; the hem opening seems a bit too wide for this length to me, but could perhaps be altered to be more tapered. Perhaps try with a lightly heeled sandal?

Kristine- thanks for the compliments was thinking I could always at least hem the pants! I should have trusted my own judgement on those crops, after all,I have been paying attention here.

Kate, my broad shouldered sister, you make some excellent points and I need to take another look from your perspective. I hope you'll take another look if I post another picture. I'm hoping it's the angle or lighting!

Aida- you make excellent observations on the pants, I was thinking they were a little wide, but I am stuck and will need to figure out how to make them work. A heel should help and I can always hem.

You had a great AT shopping spree. Everything looks fantastic except maybe the pants in #9 (They look too big in this picture), but if they are the same pants as in #8, I think they work in that outfit very nicely.

FABULOSITY. Love everything - my absolute favorite is the last dress, but WOW, what a haul!

Will the ribbon bother you in the back? That has always stopped me from buying blouses with a tie in the back - the thought of a lumpy cardigan neck. Do let me know.
