You guys are all a BAD INFLUENCE. After reading your comments, and so many plugs for the burgundy ones, I went back (with husband and kids in tow) and tried them on. They are too awesome for words. I returned the black ones, and will have the burgundy instead. You are a bad influence because now I still don't have my pair of black motorcycle boots....and am the owner of a pair of boots that are not only sufficiently weirdly-shaped that I will get stares, but are now an eye-catching colour, too. It's going to take a while before my comfort level adjusts.

Hubby agreed that burgundy ones were EVEN MORE AWESOME.

Sadly, they were sold out of my size in Vancouver, so they are shipping some from Calgary. Have to wait five or so days.

This makes me very happy! And I feel like, if I come to Vancouver, I will be able to recognize you walking down the street. Although perhaps not, since apparently you are far from the only woman in the city who has bought those!

Alicat, yes, my in-laws are lovely. Although they raised their eyebrows at my choice.

Suz, there can't be that many of us -- each store only got one pair of size 6. (Fluevog often does this, and it drives me crazy). There are two Vancouver stores, so probably only two women. Unless other women ordered them in, like me. But if you ever see a little brown-haired woman walking around with those boots, ask her name! It might be me! Hee hee. Wouldn't that be funny.

You know everyone pretty much has a pair of black moto boots. These look like a pair you would hand down to the favourite grandchild one day. Very cool and probably surprisingly wearable as long as you find them comfortable.

I live in Vancouver area as well and will keep my eyes out for them in case I ever encounter you. I have never had a pair of Fluevogs but I know he is an artist. I hope you
love them forever.

Diana, it was probably your comment that motivated me to go back and try on the burgundy ones...you said the black looked witchy but the burgundy looked awesome. And then I started to see it. The black colour emphasized any vague witchiness. I'm not going for witchy (not with that kind of boot, anyway) -- I want Keith Richards!!

Kristin, the store is set up like a comfy living room. The kids love it in there! Plus I only wanted to try on one pair of boots. My husband had to be peeled away after trying on about six.

Emily -- "those both frighten and delight me" oh right on, that just makes my day.

Ariadne -- you're right! They ARE reminiscent of mine. Burgundy and black in a pointy shoe is a good combination.

Mia -- well I guess everybody has black moto boots except for me. But you're right, these are better. They ARE comfy. Black motorcycle boots will always be around, and can wait.

Thanks Donna! I finally got them yesterday. Wearing them today. They are so comfy, I don't want to take them off my feet! I AM Keith Richards today....except, you know, less weathered. And more female. But still. I am a ROCK STAR!!

And not even a heroin addict either, LOL. Isn't that the greatest feeling? I can imagine you sitting on your couch, stretching your legs out in front of you and proudly staring at those beautiful Vogs. I like my recent stuff just fine, but haven't been over the moon about anything...I envy you and am glad you got them!

Yay! These were too cool to pass up. And really, for those of us not working, how else can we express ourselves (with a predominantly jeans wardrobe) than with awesome shoes?

Haha, Mochi, no, not a heroin addict. I guess that's one reason why I'm less weathered than he is. And yes, don't you just love it when you're super-excited about a new item? I think these were missing from my wardrobe. I've tried them on with everything, and they are surprisingly versatile. And are the perfect boots to wear with my flappy leather coat, too. That was a big wardrobe hole that I wasn't expecting to fill.

Gingko, it's so true that jeans can be limiting, and I wear them a lot. Hmm, maybe that's why I've developed such a hunger for eye-catching shoes....
