Whoa! My day got busy yesterday and I am just getting back here ... I am surprised to see so many responses!
Rachylou, chouette22, JAileen, jill58, CocoCat, Chris987, unfrumped, Peri, Lyn D., lynn, bonnie, Elizabeth P, marble, UmmLila, Summer, El Cee, cjh -- thanks for the compliments! I do think that the past few months at YLF helped -- I learn so much from the thoughtful approach so many here take to wardrobe building. I spent a couple of weeks trying to understand both the root causes that brought me to where I was, and what I really wanted out of a weekend wardrobe -- definitely something I have never done before!
Suz, Lucy, Helen11, shevia -- thanks for the feedback on that back cutout. It's definitely outside my comfort zone, but not so far out that I can't get used to it.
AJ -- that is a good point about the sunscreen -- I would never have thought of it. That patch of skin sees precious little sun so I'd probably burn and not be able to lean back in a chair for a week!
DonnaF -- I am used to shopping for workwear only, so part of it is just my eye needing to adjust to the shorter length in its appropriate context. I also am quite long between waist and crotch, which means that skirts look longer on me than they feel, if that makes any sense.
Dresses #1 and #2 do have some armhole gapping from the right angle. But knowing I planned to wear them in casual settings, most likely with a sports bra underneath, I decided it was no big deal. Were they for work I might have made a different assessment.
MsGreer -- yes, that's Dinky! I'm surprised you remember! BTW, Dinky is so attentive in these photos because I hadn't taken him on his morning walk yet and he knew he was entitled to one!
smittie -- I think that I did get uncommonly lucky, as I usually struggle to find dresses that fit me. In fact, prior to this shopping trip I only owned one dress that I didn't make myself.
viva -- that is only the tiniest fraction of my sneaker collection -- I should probably be ashamed, but I love them, and they aren't hurting anyone (so long as they don't poke the towers of shoeboxes in my walk-in closet ...) I'm still thinking about that citron cardigan and how nice it would look with jeans and a white or black tank ... hopefully it will still be there come the weekend when I can get back over there!
... and last but not least, Angie -- a "well done" from you means a lot. I can safely say that this shopping trip would not have been successful without YLF -- heck, it probably wouldn't even have happened!
