I've not been feeling it of late with my clothes. I dread getting dressed in the morning , and don't have budget open for spending money right this minute. I don't need anything, per se, because I'm that oddball who hates having too many things and my closet is overflowing with way too many tops, but I feel like I wear the same thing over and over again , and despite my vow to dress more professionally for work now, it hasn't happened. I still gravitate toward jeans, because, well, I have a thousand pairs, they hold you in and you can hide things under them
So the weekends are when I can dress with a little more variety and play around a bit. Daytime outfit was built around these new skirted tights - not drapey or loose at all and pretty athletic/yoga-ish in cut. This zip-detail boxy sweatshirt seemed to work lengthwise and to loosen up the hoochie (new fav word, thanks Rachylou) vibe of the tights . Don't worry, the skirt portion amply covers my butt. At first I had a pair of silver sneakers on, but found it looked a little too faux-dressy/disco. White adidas were much better and hopefully gave it a more relaxed look. Found a white faux leather tote and off I went for a day of errands. (I feel like I'm modelling awkwardly in a Sears catalogue holding the tote - lol)
tops: BR - last summer
skirted leggings - C'est Moi
silver leather cuff - Nickel and Suede
runners - Adidas Stan Smith
watch - BCBG
bag - Nine West
fur bits showing in the odd photo: Puffy the cat
oh - and my glasses, which I finally found after a month under the front seat of the car on a tip from my dear daughter who saw them there ages ago and never thought to tell me. Children are the worst people.
Then because I like the black/white /silver look so much and have a crazy neon orange manicure from earlier today , decided to go with the same colours for drinks out tonight with two girlfriends. Cold shoulder top , ripped jeans, black suede wedges. I love the height I get from these wedges - and they are so comfortable I bought a second pair last summer in a floral printed leather. Biggest first-world issue here was whether to go with earrings or a necklace. Necklace won. I'm having mixed feelings about the ripped jeans: a little while ago Anna made a comment about feeling the whole ripped jeans trend was waning, and I remember thinking she was likely right. But white jeans can be kind of prim looking - on me anyways- and I always fear looking like a cliche. So the rips seem to take away the country club look and add some edge - right? She asks self-consciously. Plus these are my favourite jeans, so there's that
jeans - BR last summer
bamboo knit top - random label
suede wedges - Wishbone

Do you have better luck on the weekends than you do for work days?
Thoughts., comments , jokes, always welcome ! Cheers
