WEEK IN WEAR and some style musings ( pic heavy)

monday: messy hair day! but got my brows done! (post pics) mustard blazer (forever 21), hue denim leggings,ann taylor burgundy top, carlos santana brown boots.

tuesday:j crew spotted popover, ann taylor loft mustard/yellow sweater, jag black pants, steve madden animal booties.

wednesday: lab for target tweed jacket, white ann taylor base layer, camo like floral print ( that's what the item description says- the floral part) from express, blondo NAS boots. olivia and jane oversized zipper clutch. got hair done!

thursday: turkey day! black base layer -ann taylor, caslon cowl sweater, purple jacket from talbots.dansko purple booties.

friday: michael kors jacket, printed blouse worn untucked with black chico's woven belt over and color blocked skirt from next (UK brand), fleece lined tights (qvc) and blondo boots.

Style/General fashion related musings:
My fussy feet do fantastic in boots. Summer my little toe on the right foot gets pinched no matter what size or width I move upto! swelling related? Hmmmm. Dehydrated? Hmmmm.

I just love, love, love getting my hair and brows done. I've said it many a times but had to say it over!

So thankful to Angie for helping me rediscover I am Queen dangly earrings. During Med school in India I was known as the tall girl (5ft 6in is talll by Indian standards) with long hair and big hoop earrings. Clearly dangly/big earrings have been part of my evolving style statement.

ETA: just realized I have color, texture, pattern and maybe some shine going on too this past week!!!

Sona, you look terrific in your dangly and hoop earrings and in all your outfits, too. Look at you rocking those patterned pants in 9-12! Great jacket, too - and a slightly different silhouette for you. But I adore your polka dots in 5-7! So much fun with the leopard booties!

The colour blocked skirt is really interesting. I have to admit when I glanced at the thumbnails I wondered if that was your apron! Ooops! (Obviously, my mistake!!) I wonder how it would look with the tweed jacket?

You look so beautiful in the rich blues and purple/eggplant of your turkey day outfit.

Suz: yes interesting thought on the colorblocked skirt. I copied the look sans jacket from the next website as they had it paired except the model was wearing the blouse tucked in.

OMG, your posts and outfits are just amazing. Rich, layered, so much depth in them... actually, that is exactly why I love Indian food, for those very reasons.

OK, I won't eat you but you look divine, as always. My dinner is almost finished (probably the reason for all the food references...), so I'm off to set the table, but I'll be back to comment on each outfit in detail.
I need time to recover anyway.

I agree with the others that you look FAB in the rich jewel colours like the purple in #13.
Love #9 with the clutch too.
I would leave the necklace off in 5-7 and let the polka dots and fab shoes do all the talking. Looks like you had a busy and super-stylish week!

Sona, you're also Queen Saturated Color, and all these looks are varied and gorgeous on you. But I'm particularly impressed with 9-12 which is obviously low-contrast and fairly neutral. But you look amazing! The moto jacket and boots--stunning on you. I think clothes just love you.

#10 is TDF! I also love that last one. I've got a black and white stretch skirt with a houndstooth print that would do well to be paired with a floral top such as this.

My sis just bought the blondo boots - they are on sale again. They are SO flattering on her! She has larger calves but the Blondos stretched and fit her like a glove. Now I'm jealous and wanting a pair, but I've got my Aquatalia flat boots, so I'm having some self control.

I think #9 belongs in a magazine, on the cover! And I adore the inky-purple-y tonals of #13 --- restful but colourful, and deep... mmm!

I have the same issue with summer shoes (guess why I love those Birks!). Do you suppose summer shoes are actually made smaller to look more dainty? Or maybe it's just that the feet swell more in the heat. Or the winter shoes and boots are made of sturdier rather than thinner leather and built for feet to slide into, socks and all, while the summer ones simply don't have the built-in width or the structure for 'give' or extra toe-wiggle room... As you say, 'Hmmm!'

Sona, having been off the forum for a month, may I say how lovely it is to see you looking and sounding so happy and confident again? You've always looked consistently great, even when you felt you were having a bad fashion day or on a day when you weren't having a easy time on the health front; but it's FABULOUS to see that wide smile back in business, with no caveats!

Sona, this was one fab round.

1-4: I don't remember seeing you in mustard color, it looks wonderful on you. As does...
5-7: ...the color of this sweater too. Golden girl looks fab in golden shades. I love prolkadots with booties here.
9-12: I love monochromatic pattern mixing action here and how tall boots bookend your loooooong hair. Beautiful. May I steal the clutch please?
13-14: Colors after my own heart, I love the play around the purples and how the black base binds it all together.
15-17: Just to have all bases covered, you pulled another great look with vibrant pattern, grounded with B&W.

I really enjoyed this series, but I always enjoy all your outfits anyway.

The yellow jacket will be so uplifting for winter! You'll find lots of amazing looks to pair with this in your closet.

The tonal T-Day look is stellar. Wear this, and other versions of these colors often!

I love the grey moto-style jacket. I wonder about a slightly shorter more more fitted white base top. The edgy look of the pants is playful and fun.
