Hi from Vietnam! We are in Hanoi now, the wedding celebrations being over. Last Sunday evening was the reception at a convention centre type venue in Ho Chi Minh City aka Saigon.
Here are more pics. Level of formality varied hugely from almost ball gown standard down to jeans and T-shirt, amongst the Vietnamese guests. The much smaller number of Western guests, mostly from NZ and the USA but also our relatives from Canada, were somewhere in between.
Bride was so beautiful in her white Western wedding dress. Groom wanted Chucks for the wedding and said she should have some too, which she wore for dancing in the short white dress she had worn for the legal marriage back in April in California.
I adored his mother’s peacock ao dai shown in pic 5.That’s his brother and wife of nearly 3 years in that pic.
Pic 7 shows me with my best friend- she and her husband have been our friends since we met at Rebecca’s kindy when she and their daughter were both 3- 25 years ago!
Was happy in my red outfit.
