Delightful pattern mix, and so gorgeously autumnal! And how fun to get such nice comments on your look--I know what you mean about dressing up and going to work where no one is around!

Fabulous shoes, pattern mix, and overall look!

Very fun outfit! I love your socks! I love the socks/ shoes/ pants combo even more!

Gorgeous pattern mixing! I like how the top plays off the browns - is it orange?

I just bought a similar pair of shoes (they're slightly more fisherman than Mary Janes). I've been struggling with how to style them but this gives me some more ideas, thanks!

Zaeobi, I see the top as a very warm reddish brown. In terms of styling the shoes, through trial and error I decided these ones definitely look best with shorter pants that showcase the entire shoe, and socks! They aren’t subtle shoes but sometimes more is more I guess?

Come to think of it I guess the top is brick red, but I don’t see it as a red because I don’t wear red as a rule - I wear brown

Ah I asked because I'm the same as you! Red, blue, pink & grey are my usually 'no go' colours, but brick red is surprisingly versatile with my chocolate heavy (dark brown neutral) wardrobe.

Ah good tip, thank you! I wonder if it has something to do with the ankle straps cutting across the foot (so a shorter hem length doesn't fight them). What about skirts/ dresses - or do you find that your shoes look best with trousers? Maybe I can do a 'similar-but-not-exactly-the-same' WIW to outfit lab some possible outfits for us?

Ooh would love that!
Yes, the straps and chunky soles with the stitching fight with longer pants which just don’t ‘showcase’ the shoe well. I don’t love the black soles or white stitching on their own, so I have other better options to wear with longer pants.
I myself don’t wear skirts at all, and dresses only with with pants in the winter (unless I have some dressy event but it’s been years since I put on tights). And not often during our short transitional spring and fall either - so usually with boots when the layered dress and pants also make sense temperature wise. But I love a good outfit lab and would love to see your shoes!

A feast to my eyes! Love these rich hues and THOSE socks! Makes for a great pattern mix with the plaid pants! What a pitty you don't have the well deserved audience... and, I would have not been shy either to complimented you on the street!:-)

This just makes me happy. Love it!

Subtly snazzy. Well done.
