This site is all about curating your wardrobe to be just right for your style and your life. Some people have lots of items in their closets, dressers, and dressing rooms; others take pride in their small collections. How did you decide how many articles of clothing you want to have?
I’m in the middle of sorting out my wardrobe for a likely move and body change. Preparing is important to me because it is a huge task, and as encouragement to continue towards my (non-wardrobe related) goals. I have just realized that the target number I’ve had in mind is entirely arbitrary, selected only because it has such lovely digits. There must be a better way.
I am aware of the benefit of a small footprint throughout my lifestyle. I see that as a good reason to buy less clothing. I also see it as a reason *not* to discard clothing here and buy new there. The fee for transporting a suitcase, and the environmental cost of doing so, are much less than the costs of producing and purchasing all new things.
What has led to your decisions about wardrobe size?
