You've got some great recommendations! Let me add a few more....
1. Ecco Booties. Some might call these high top sneakers. They are waterproof, faux fur lining that is quite warm, have all the support and comfort you'd expect from Ecco, and have a very grippy sole. I have them in a solid black which I prefer to white soles with a black upper. Not exactly inexpensive but worth every $$ to me. Nordstrom is sold out but Zappos has them.
2. These Merrill "hiking boots". They may be too much like the snow boots you already have but I'll mention them anyway. Extremely warm, very supportive, waterproof, and great quality. Granted they do have a "gear" look, which might or might not be your thing. I wear them for outdoor walks daily from about now until March. If I need to walk through a few inches of snow, no problem. They are reasonably grippy but if it's icy I'd add my yaktraks. They are a little stiff, so the zipper AND the laces have to be undone to take them off, but they have loosened up a bit with weather.
I wear both of them with mid-weight smartwool socks and my feet are very happy in cold weather, although for me I'm usually moving when I wear them. Would love to try either pair around a fire pit!
