Hey, I can always make a sartorial statement if I can't make it mentally or verbally, right? Magnifique indeed baby.

Went out armed with $$ to get some much needed (well, as much as any of us actually need anything ) shopping done today. Left the house in the trench, and came home in the cupro Mackage "parka" (their word, not mine - although it's freaking cold enough here again to warrant an actual parka . Goodbye Spring , it was great knowing you for a week). Anyways , I went in to my trusty local boutique buy a blazer and the owner "made" me also buy this cupro Mackage leather trimmed anorak . She's always right. I love it! Cupro is the best fabric - so lightweight, non creasing , drapey yet not flimsy. And it was on sale

I enjoyed this pairing of the Magnifique linen t, white jeans and silver loafers (changed into silver sneakers which I also bought today) and big silver earrings ,so much that I have worn it twice already this week . The anorak is going to be my new favourite piece, I can tell already - look how it's styled in the Nordstrom find! I can totally do that.

Anyways - having a struggle with loving the body, as many of us are right now, and am finding my white jeans a good fall-back. They are a little roomy and forgiving because of the stretch, but they also don't make me feel lousy - which is a key thing at the moment.

I did get a few good things today on my shopping binge, but still am in search of a new bag. And I have to thanks/no thanks the YLF crew here for making me think I would really like a new "it bag" for summer. I want something black/white or silver - and a bit of a statement piece. Didn't find it today .

Gorgeous outfit, Lisa. You always look so incredibly well put together. This also qualifies for the "bold" post, I'd say. Look at that amazing wristband, wow!!! And the earrings!

LOVE the perforated white sneakers -- now I am so wishing I could keep that style on my foot. I do have one pair that works but I had to size down and that won't always do the trick.

Gorgeous anorak, too.

It's hot here today -- our first hot day!! -- but they say it will be 7C and raining on the weekend, and so the spring of my endless discontent goes. The weather has just plain SUCKED here.

Lisa, you look Killer Manifique. (You had me with the white jeans, you know). LOVE the jewellery and super cute shoes. And the hair trim looks nice too.

I like the way you rolled your jeans to the shorter length. That looks better to my pedantic-about-lengths eye.

Suz - the sneaks are actually silver - just couldn't find a screen shot of them in that colour. I find them tough to keep on also, but these worked. I also always am barefoot in sneakers , so that helps. These were so stupidly comfortable I wore them out of the store. Two things like that in one day, ha. . And thanks for the lovely compliment. (but this isn't bold for me, in fact, it's totally normal ) It was 34 here the other day, and it's expected to snow again tomorrow. Kill me now.

Aliona - I love black and white too , thank you! And yes, one the best things is to have a store owner who knows you and will tell it to you like it is. She is honest, and tells me when the blazer I really wanted to buy , for example, wasn't the best choice for me. You have to love a good eye. I believe in supporting local independent retail. It usually pays off. She offered me a Mother's Day discount that they had offered last weekend than I completely missed - so I saved 20% on this, plus a new Smythe jacket All because we are friends and love to talk business.

Echoing everyone else--that jacket is great and your whole ensemble is so well put together. I know what you mean about a summer "it bag" -- I've bought several bags over the last few months, none of which really do it for summer. I keep buying and returning.

Angie - thank you. I actually went back and cuffed the jeans afterward. I always wear them unrolled as they aren't really long, plus they feel a little dressier that way. But for the sneakers look - rolled it was:) You think this is ok to do for a dressier look too ?? It still feels a little too preppy to me. I may actually cut and fray the bottom.

Thanks Janet I am never taking this ring off. Even sold the line, inadvertently (by wearing this ring) , to this same boutique owner. This is where I buy all of my JennyBird pieces from , and she really liked the ring and earrings . Yay!

Lisa - I put the jacket in finds today . Peacock blue - you can't miss it All I can get my jock of a daughter to do is work at The North Face- which does come in handy, I will admit . I've thought about white - and love the idea, but ....I dunno. Keeping it pristine looking - I'm not convinced. I have had white leather before and it got grubby looking very quickly. And despite trying to be a vegan, I cannot quite love white faux leather. I wish I wasn't such a, never mind What do you have for summer in white? Or silver? Or black/white?

Mochi (spell check keeps changing it to Mocha) - that is so sweet - and you can't guess how much I appreciate that. I so love a good outfit, and when it happens, I like to share it. So you can understand why I don't post wiw's too often -haha. The bracelet is the worst thing ever. It looks so cool, but i have to keep tightening it every 14 seconds. It actually fell right off the other day. Serves me right.

Lisa - yes, that would be another colour choice , for a second bag. (which I might even do this summer) I don't like to have too many going at once though - and I feel like a sharper . cleaner lined bag would be interesting and different. I have a few of those Coach bags from years past that are slouchy and soft and I'm not into them right now . I wore one today and I felt a little dated . First world ridiculous "problems". I do love that Cuyana brand though, but I'm trying to stay focused on something with edge .

Love cupro. Coincidentally I bought a cupro jacket too a couple of weeks ago. Lightweight and perfect for transitional weather.
Love your outfit. You wear white jeans well. And chalk me up as another fan of the hard to wear bracelet!
I have this black and white bag. It's a clutch so probably not what you are looking for. I like it a lot but am thinking of modifying the strap to take off the black bit. I like a strap but it is a little too wide I think. Ok, I am rambling now.

Great outfit, super cool ring and bracelet! I know what you mean about the weather, it was gorgeous here today but tomorrow and for about the next 10 days it'll be rainy and much cooler. We haven't had much of a spring at all.

And I have to say that you're looking super awesome in white jeans. As one of "those" people who are having issues with their body lately, I haven't been able to wear white jeans at all. Darker jeans have a slimming effect and those are the ones I tend to stick to. Pathetic...I know. But you ---- you looked amazing even when you were heading out to shop. And that's basically wearing something as simple as jeans & tshirt with loafers..right?! I really love your keen eye for proportions and your outfit creation. Fab!

I really like your new coat, and it looks wonderful with your outfit and short hair.
If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, then you should know I just ordered those Nine West sneakers. These will be my third try at a silver slip on and I am crossing my fingers. They look great in the photos.

Manny- you know, I have been afraid of white jeans my entire life . I always had a pair , but always felt they were a bad idea and really only good on slim tight legs that didn't meet in the middle . Because that's how they look best and how we are used to seeing them: in fashion mags and websites that use models with the ever important thigh gap . I bought into that fully . But you know something , white is as flattering as black . It disappears into the background and doesn't scream "look at me" the way red , or yellow , or green or floral or a bright blue would . I still am surprised at seeing these pictures of myself with these curvy thighs - and I actually have wondered who that is in those thumbnail pics I see when I look at posts here on YLF. I'm starting to be more comfortable with the fact that I have this different , curvier shape because nothing is changing despite my efforts . What other choice do we have ? I think that the model thin leg is one look, but so is our curvier one . As long as your white jeans fit properly , they will never be unflattering . That's my story , and I'm sticking to it . I'm tired of apologizing for myself
