W 8/13 and 8/14: Scaly and preppy

1. Yesterday I wore an "all-neutrals" outfit of snake print top, tan skirt, and red blazer. I'm not wild about the fit of the top with the skirt - it's a long tunic and I tucked it in but maybe it needed a belt or something. What do you all think? But I loved the color combo.

2. Today I am going to a Rotary luncheon and though my preppy plaid blazer would be just the thing. It's been a favorite for a couple of years now and for some reason it's been a little neglected this year. I'll have to remedy that situation!

We're watching "Falling Skies" at the moment and I immediately thought of aliens when I read the word scaly. So glad you are human.

Outfit #2 is KILLER. So fresh and preppy.

The top in #1 is probably best left untucked over slim pants. Perhaps with a belt. The fit seems to change when it's tucked. What do you think?

Now, I always want to say, when following Angie, "yeah, what she said!" Actually, I'd just gotten as far as suggesting a belt.

I am in awe of #2. Truly. What would happen if you paired the jacket with a slouchy, casual pant. A slouchy chino, maybe? or bf's?

I think they both look good. I especially like the color combo in #1. I'm not sure about the fit of the top - it's hard to see with the jacket on top. It looks crooked to me but that's probably just the way it's tucked in.

I hear you on the top for #1. It's cool, but I want to see it with pants for some reason.. Oh. Just saw that's what Angie said.

I think my favourite of your two outfits colourwise is #1 as I love a bit of animal and red. I also love the touches of coral/pink in #2. You look great.
Good suggestions to try the top with pants. That would look fab.

Fun story: The Rotary Club meets just two blocks from my office so I walk to the lunch meetings. For the second week in a row, I've had a lady stop me on the street to compliment my shoes! It's a nice boost in the middle of the day!

I actually don't mind how the top looks with the skirt. I kind of like the change from a tuck into a high waisted pencil; it looks fresh to me. But then I don't remember how the top looks untucked, so I may be off base?
