VERY FIRST W.I.W. for late Mothers Day Lunch.

Although I am addicted to this forum this is my very first W.I.W. with photo!
I recently thrifted this VERY colourful knit . Prior to Y.L.F I would have worn it on its own, but it really needed to be layered. I would never have thought to adjust the sleeve length and add a button-down.
Black skinny jeans and flat boots, G.S.P. called 'Lottie' and Oh No- the photo is sideways!
P.S. A piece of tomato from a delicious Greek salad ended up on the shirt and left a reddish splurge!

Deborah, the label says "At The Walk". Never heard of it before?!!
The actual top is a bit on the short side which makes me think that it is a few years old. Maybe just languishing in someones drawer unworn due to the bright colours!

Y.L.F is teaching me to be braver about my outfits choices- I usually stick to a palette of Navy, Grey and Black with scarves to add more interest.

B.T.W. family and friends made no comments about the top, so it is nice to get some positive feedback.

I love the top on you - so colourful and flattering. It seems like a very versatile piece - how about trying it over a denim or chambray shirt with white jeans?

I do have a chambray shirt I can try it with, great idea! I don't have white jeans 'cause I'm a Pear and prefer a darker colour on my lower half, but you've given me another option for this top that I hadn't considered

Hello, Lyn! Good to see you (literally)! Your very first WIW, and already layering? This is great. I'm a fan of the bright colors, and this silhouette is working well for you. I love missvee's ideas, too!

It gets easier if you do it often, at least at first.

I really like the proportions y ou created here with the short sweater, the button down underneath, and the pants. Plus, the button down frames the bright sweater so nicely

I like the idea about chambray shirt under it - it would be a very different look.

You could also try the top half with a pencil skirt and see how that looks for variety.

Hi there! Great job on your first WIW! I like the bright colors in your top. Great job to try layering over a button front shirt. Your darks on the bottom half certainly make you look slim and trip (I see no pear). It's nice to get feedback online when your friends and family are clueless isn't it?
