Looooolll loool (indistinct Homer Simpson drooling noises)

Love those shoes! They combine two things I love most in the world: pointy toes that aren't too elongated and monk straps. Glorious! Yes. '80 dress in black. That was me. Is it that obvious?

The tank is okay. For the price, even at the huge markdown, it should be better. Their construction is so simple , I don't think they should cost over $60. Have you absolutely ruled out a knit construction? I find that knit and jersey ones fit me so much better than silky ones. I've also had great success with cheap drape neck ones at H&M. The drape gives the ladies lots of room to breath, which gives me flexibility to get a more fitted middle.

Thanks for even more shoe love, k. I hear you on the knits. One thing about this particular tank, really the big thing, was the coolness of the abstract pattern. Moody, as Suz aptly put it. It is sort of dark and edgy, and really when I saw it at Nordstrom inside a blazer, it was such a posh but cool look, so that I was (kind of) willing to reconsider my spending limit. I like that it's silk, too, but it doesn't have to be. I'll keep looking for some layering tanks, and I'm sure they're easy to find...I just had high style hopes for this one. On the other hand, a big chunk of money saved here.

Hi Mochi---

1 out of 2 ain't bad, right?

I'm glad you're passing on the shell, as I think you can do a bit better re all the fit issues others raised. I do love the print on you, though! Ann Taylor doesn't have much now but they will often have silk shells in abstract prints.

And the Nordstrom Classiques line tends to have same in moody neutrals, and when sale priced come in lots lower than the Lafayette. I'm also not seeing anything up your alley right now in their online selection.

The tanks are such simple construction you know I can't close without recommending you fabric hunt and hire someone to run one up for you, right?

Agree the tank is not up to par, but the SHOES! Thanks to you, I just ordered them from Amazon as the first of my 12x12 purchases for the year. That means keep, missy!

I a, not seeing the genie effect at all with these shoes. They look very streamlined and modern to me. I would keep! They are stunning.

Wow, now I'm really wanting to wear these shoes out! Will try them around the house first. Am very excited. I don't know whether I want to tap dance in them, or kick someone a la Clockwork Orange. They are my new tuff shoes. Thanks, everyone.
