As you may or may not know, I lost a bunch of weight and have been working out, which means my quasi-tight dresses are now not even quasi. So I embarked on a search to find a slut dress to wear to show the beloved boy how very hot I am. What a disaster!
The problem is not the dress, which is really great. It's by VPL and it's a great combination of bodycon and designer awesome. The problem was the experience I had at the site when I got the dress and discovered I needed a different size, or a different dress. It was loose on the boobs and tight on the gut (which I thought I had eradicated, thanks for the boost, slut dress). In short, Just Not Right. And it was expensive enough I really wanted to Get It Right.
I had ordered this dress before Sandy hit NYC, so my order was delayed. Fine. I get an email saying that post-Sandy they'd checked their warehouse and didn't have my size, did I want a different dress and they really wanted to make sure I was happy. I say, no, just cancel it. They email back, Oh we found one! I ask (at this point questioning my size and the order) wait, is this returnable? And they say, of course!
So I get it, try it, feel less than slutalicious, and email saying I want to exchange it - for a more expensive dress, yet, of course I will pay the difference. They say very rudely and chidingly - and what happened to my nice, eager to please sales correspondent? Who is this new nasty gal? - dear naughty buyer, you checked a box that says it was final sale, so go blow.
I email back, wait, look at this chain, you said I could return it. Response: We certainly did not, you knew what you were getting into, tough luck.
This is really the first time I have encountered SUCH rudeness in a small online retailer. They have a great selection but I will never go back! And now I have to figure out how to inflate my boobs and deflate the stomach, because I am Stuck With The Dress - and a pointless charge on the Visa..
Arrgh.
